Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol taken for a ride in New York!

Shah Rukh Khan, who was in New York recently to promote his film 'My Name is Khan,' was taken for a ride…luckily it was a ride in a taxi cab arranged by the fun loving folks at MTV Iggy.

It gets even better. He had the ever charming Kajol, his good friend and MNIK co-star, giving him company.

Khan and Kajol flew in to New York on Sunday, January 31. On Monday morning, they rang the opening bell for NASDAQ stock exchange on behalf of Fox Searchlight Pictures who are promoting MNIK in the US.

An endless sequence of long boring interviews followed, during which they were repeatedly asked the same questions. MTV Iggy's crew rescued them from the endless yawn and whisked them away for a wild night through New York's top hot spots.

Khan and Kajol rode a real NYC taxicab with a real NYC cabbie - Erhan from Turkey - who did not bat an eyelid when told Khan and Kajol would be riding his cab for the next two hours.

The cab was rigged with 4 lipstick cameras and 3 kino lights. Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol wore mics. Other than that it was no different from a cab that New Yorkers ride. Well, Ok, maybe the Iggy folks used a deodorizer!

There were no bodyguards, no handlers, no publicists. Once on the road, it didn't take long for Shah Rukh and Kajol to get into the grove, let down their guards and chill!

Khan later tweeted:

too a cab ride with mtv & did a 2 hr interview all over nyc lost track of time so just saying love u all. my name is khan & i am very happy

Stay tuned so as not to miss the interview when it airs on MTV. In the meantime, here is a delightful teaser (Next Post).
