IPL 2010: Shahrukh Khan to stay away from Knight Riders’ Chennai game

Kolkata, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) co-owner Shah Rukh Khan will not be present when his side takes on Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings in a must win encounter for teams Tuesday at the Chidamdaram Stadium.

“No, I won’t come to Chennai for the match. Think the team needs to introspect and play without my interference…emotional or physical,” the superstar tweeted Monday.

The Knight Riders have not been consistent enough in their campaign this year and are now ranked sixth with 10 points from 11 matches with a poor net run rate of -0.417.

Shah Rukh is worried about that.

“I think our main issue is winning consecutive games. We haven’t since the first two. Momentum and consistence amiss,” Shah Rukh said on the social networking site.

Shah Rukh, who is busy shooting for his forthcoming film “Ra. One”, also feels that only praying for his team’s success will not work. Performance on the field is the only mantra for the Knights.

“Ha ha… someone said better way to pray at KKR matches will help…I don’t think so…I think better play at KKR matches will help our cause,” he said.

The Knight Riders need to win all three of their remaining matches to stay in contention for a semi final berth.

With Mumbai Indians making the semi-finals for the first time in IPL history Sunday after mauling the Rajasthan Royals, the only team not to feature in the semis ever is the Knight Riders.

Shahrukh Khan predicts the future of Bollywood

The king of Bollywood-Shahrukh Khan has declared that Indian stars would soon go global. Khan is really impressed with the new kind of filmmaking that has hit Bollywood recently.

He commented that this new generation of filmmakers and actors are very modern and truly international in their style. They have learnt about their craft from the Western world and are all set to apply these techniques to the Indian audience. He believes that Indian stars would become global at a very fast and unexpected rate.

The time limit, according to him, will be next five-six years.

He is also sharp enough to notice that youngsters these days get a taste of different films all over the world and thus when they make films, these influences naturally get incorporated in them. Khan thinks that we need to make films that can be watched by the international audience and leave a mark in their hearts.

The handsome actor remarks that since English is a global language, it becomes easier for the international audience to relate to Hollywood films, rather than Bollywood films which are made in Hindi language.

However, at the same time, he accepts the fact that many films these days incorporate Hinglish language-a combination of Hindi and English, which is currently a rage among the young generation.

Shahrukh Khan-Amir Khan: Million Dollar question- Better actors or better businessmen?

The million Dollar question with respect to the two most sought after stars in bollywood, Shahrukh and Aamir would be, who is a better actor, or a businessman, or both?

Perhaps, to answer that, would be even more difficult than to answer the question, what came first the egg or the hen? Nevertheless, the fact is that both Shahrukh and Aamir have proved in numerable times that they are competent actors. Each one is better than the other with each film of theirs being released. As far as the business acumen of these stars is concerned, they are unsurpass able. Take some films for example-

As of film s like ‘Main Hoon Na’, ‘Om Shanti Om’ which were Shahrukh’s home productions, starring himself in the lead roles, had seen a mind-blowing inflow of cash, making his bank balance grow multifold. There was Aamir’s home production ‘Taare Zameen Par’, and ‘Ghajini’, which too had him playing the protagonist teacher who helped a child overcome his basic inborn problem of being Dyslexic, and therefore a slow learner. Theses films too, set the cash registers ringing in fast at the box office and Aamir was richer by a few millions too.

The acting quotient of both the super stars re far from being just average, and the two of them are by far amongst the most gifted and talented actors that Indian cinema has seen. Recently, the two again clashed at the box office with Aamir’s ‘3 Idiots’, doing the best business ever in the Indian markets. Shahrukh Khan, with his film ‘My Name is Khan’, again broke all records abroad, proving that he truly was in the race to be one up.

Now, again the two are lined up to give each other the elbow out with Shahrukh’s home production’RA 1’,and Aamir’s ‘Delhi Belly’, and his wife’s directorial debut film ‘Dhobi Ghat’,along with a couple of other films.

Considering that both the Khans have done exceedingly well with their acting skills and their business ventures, we are back to the question with what we began. We just have to wait or the next lot of films to release, to answer the question, so let’s just wait and watch till then!
