Shahrukh Khan: The abnormal Factor

The latest bug to have bitten bollywood is the mental disease. Almost every film has started taking up issues of mental disorders which till now had been considered taboo for the extravaganza called the Hindi movie. After the Auro magic of Amitabh Bachchan in Paa, it is now ShahRukh with a projection of a guy inflicted with a form of Autism.

As is a known fact by now that in the latest flick by Karan Johar ‘My Name is Khan’, ShahRukh has portrayed the character of Rizwan who suffers from a mental ailment called the Asperger Syndrome. This is a kind of disease affecting the brain function where in certain abnormalities are detected.

However the twist in this story comes when Rizwan falls in love with the character played by Kajol, Mandira who is a single mother. The story seems to be quite fascinating as the complicated lanes of romance might have come to the rescue of the two harassed characters in the film.

The fact is that the underlying factor which makes the world move forward is perhaps the power of love. This is the emotion which defies all boundaries and gives the worshipper a kind of solace that is unparallel in any other emotion that God has bestowed to humans.

Karan Johar has many a times shown the power of love and the repercussions through his movies like ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, ‘Khabhi Khushi Khabhi Gham’, ‘Khabhi Alvida Na Kehna ‘etc. to name just a few where the protagonists have always projectedthe power of love in a way that captures the basic essence of human need which of course is love.

So lets hope that ‘My Name Is Khan’ is also going to be a gripping story that touches the audience sentiments in the same manner.

Imagine Shahrukh Khan as a software engineer who creates a monster that goes berserk and kills people!

Well, the latest snippets from B-town reveal a rough outline of SRK’s ambitious home production Ra.1, a sci-fi thriller with loads of special effects.

We learn that in the film SRK plays a techie named Shekhar who’s so obsessed with video games that he creates a monster for one of the games. Trouble begins when the virtual monster takes a real form and begins killing people.

To tame the beast, Shekhar transforms himself into a virtual character. Thereby begins the battle between Shekhar and the monster.

As the film’s producer, SRK is making sure that the production team has the best minds and hands. While Anubhav Sinha has been roped in to direct the flick, Ueli Steiger (cinematographer of ‘10,000 BC’) will crank the camera and David Benullo (of ‘Hallowed Ground’) is the screenwriter.

Shooting is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2010.

Shahrukh Khan has signed Kareena Kapoor for his first ever superhero film ‘Ra. 1’ and now reports reveal that the movie will also have an animated version of her.

Yes, sassy Bebo that too animated. Sounds amazing! This is going to happen for the first time that a Bollywood actress will get an animated avatar. So it has to be seen how she looks in her new computer-designed character.

As a source tells about this to daily, “Shahrukh plays a video-game designer in the film. He’s obsessed with their animated characters. When he falls in love with Kareena, he imagines her as one of the characters.”

Last seen in a virtual version was Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie in the animated movie Beowulf, and that created quite a stir because she appeared naked in the film.
