Kudos to SRK

Shah Rukh's My Name is Khan may not have been a hit, but it found favour with one of the best writers of Bollywood.

"Salim Khan loved the movie, and he especially liked Shah Rukh in it," said a source close to the family. "He thought Shah Rukh had done a great job and he feels that it was brave to use the movie for a good cause, and the cause of Muslims all over the world."

Salim Khan is of course the father of Salman Khan, who has a running feud with Shah Rukh, but this did not stop Salim Khan from calling up his son's rival to offer his praise. Sources close to Shah Rukh said he had received the message. "Salim sahib sent the message saying how much he had loved the movie and that Shah Rukh had done a super job in it. It was very nice of him, being such a respectable and senior person in the industry to have responded like this," the source said.

SRK himself confirmed the news, saying: “Yes, Salim uncle has loved the film and it’s very sweet of him that he sent me a message. We all are like a family.”

Salim Khan along with Javed Akhtar wrote over a dozen superhit films including the one that many believe is the greatest film ever made in Bollywood, Sholay. High praise indeed for Shah Rukh!

SRK reveals his six-pack abs secret

Shah Rukh Khan, who flaunted six-pack abs in blockbuster ‘Om Shanti Om’, is doling out fitness tips to youngsters. He reveals that he does 100 push ups and 60 pull ups everyday. He said, “When you start you can only do five push ups and one pull up. It just happens (later) if you are regular,”

Advising on six pack abs he said, “Six-pack more to do with diet than exercise alone. You need to be very disciplined. (Do it for) 30 to 40 days then it will start to show. Exercise regimen - four times a week. Thirty minutes do weights or any exercise which makes you sweat.”

SRK believes in good diet along with workout. “No rice or bread at all with food, grilled food. Lots of water. No alcohol. No desserts, ice creams or colas. No food in between meals like chips, etc. Single handedly try and bring the junk food industry to closure. If you do, then exercise (for) 50 minutes. No music and wasting time during exercise. Just do it like a job and push yourself.” He said.

Though he follows a healthy diet, he is strictly against quick fix diets. “You make your choices according to your needs. When I work out I don’t drink colas myself. Young kids (upto age of 25) should not have beer bellies. Don’t know why...just felt like saying it.” he quipped.

Shahrukh Khan has someone waiting for him in Peshawar

We are all aware of the fact that Shahrukh Khan is the proverbial outsider who had no godfather or star parents to give him a break in Bollywood, but still made it to the top league on the basis of sheer merit and talent.

Now we find that the original roots of this Bollywood superstar can be traced back to Peshawar in Pakistan.

His father, Taj Mohammad was born in the city of Peshawar. He was the youngest of the five siblings and completed his graduation from Peshawar’s Edwards College. This is the same college where famous Indian filmstar Raj Kapoor’s father Prithvi Raj Kapoor also studied.

It has been reported that at present the entire paternal family of Shahrukh Khan lives in Shah Wali Qataal area of Peshawar’s famous Qissa Khwani (Kahani) bazaar. The Qissa Khwani (Kahani) bazaar boasts of ‘Kehwa khanas’, stalls of Tikka and Chapli Kabab and also dry fruit shops. In the past, it was a popular site for caravans and military adventures.

Maqsood Ahmed is the elder among all of Shahrukh cousins living in Peshawar. He runs a small business and was overwhelmed with the respect when people came to know that they are the cousins of Shahrukh Khan.

According to him, Khan had visited Peshawar twice, one when he was 13 years old and the last time was in 1980.At that time he stayed for a month with his family in Peshawar.Ahmed commented that Shahrukh much loved Traditional Afghan food.

Ahmed could always sense that Khan would make it big one day. He commented that even though Khan was very young the time they last met, but he had all the exceptional qualities which are required to get into the top league. He was bright, jolly, intelligent and could make interesting conversations.

He believes that Khan has a magnetic personality and anyone would feel proud and honored to the cousin of such a great man. However, when it came to his choice of actors, Ahmed thinks that no one would be able to surpass Dilip Khan and he is the finest actor in Indian Cinema.

He also hopes that Khan, along with his family will visit them in Peshawar one day.

SRK, Karan lash out at their offenders

It’s very unlikely of Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan to lose their temper and revert bluntly to unpleasant questions coming their way. Both Kjo and Shah Rukh are extremely well spoken and know how to deal with annoying queries pertaining to their personal life especially.

Twitter being a public forum where fans get a chance to communicate with their favourite celebs, celebs often come across people who sort of take an undue advantage of the platform.

Just recently when a nosey someone asked SRK as to why does he drink and smoke if he follows Islam, the actor replied, “Don’t take it personally but what I eat & drink is really my business. I get tired sometimes when people tell me how to follow my own religion.”

Karan Johar too faced a tough time when he had to put up with people who asked him questions on his sexual orientation!

Karan wrote, “Critical appraisal and analysis is more than welcome...but insinuations and comments about my life, choices and orientation are NOT...While most tweets are objective, frank and warm..the ones that are constantly making tactless statements about my personal life are upsetting.”

We quite agree with SRK and Karan and hope people wouldn’t cross their boundaries when interacting with anyone on a forum like these social networking sites.
