Rajiv Menon wants to direct Shah Rukh Khan

So far, ace cinematographer-turned-filmmaker Rajiv Menon has left no stones unturned in his career. After tasting success in ad filmmaking, he stepped into cranking camera for various films. Later, Rajiv Menon made his directorial with “Minsara Kanavu’ and “Kandukondaen Kandukondaen’. These films won him awards on the criteria of the best entertaining films.

He had cranked camera for Mani Rathnam’s Hindi movie “Guru’ starring Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai in lead roles. As a matter of fact, Rajiv had almost finalized the deal with Abhi-Ash to remake yesteryear Bollywood classic; “Abhimaan’ (which featured Amitabh and Jaya Bacchan in lead roles). However, the project didn’t take off due to various constraints.

Now, it has been revealed that Rajiv Menon has approached Bollywood’s Superstar Shah Rukh Khan for a “romantic-comedy'.

Nevertheless, there hasn’t been any affirmative response from the actor, as he’s quite busy with “My Name is Khan’. Soon after this film’s shooting, he will gear up for “Happy New Year’ directed by Farhan Khan, who earlier directed him in “Main Hoon Na’ and “Om Shanthi Om’. We’ve got to wait and watch whether King Khan answers to Rajiv Menon’s call…

SRK's connection with Ms Fox

Now we didn’t know that SRK’s ‘Fox’ connection was so strong.

Well, we aren’t talking about the much-publicised multi-crore deal with a foreign studio to distribute My Name Is Khan; we’re talking about the sexy Ms Fox from Hollywood. Apparently Shah Rukh Khan is a huge fan of Megan Fox (tell us which man isn’t), and recently at a press conference to announce the mega tie-up (with the studio and not the hottie Fox, silly) SRK in his usual tongue-in-cheek humour said that the only reason he was tying up with the studio is because they shared a common name with his hot-favourite — Megan Fox.

And he was hoping that they honour the tie-up with an introduction with the actress. That was SRK at his humorous best. Though it won’t be too long before the King Khan will be seen hobnobbing with the Angies-Brads and Toms-Kats of Hollywood. Wotsay?

Shah Rukh Khan Hosts Dinner For Ali Rustam In Mumbai

Bollywood heartthrob Shah Rukh Khan hosted Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam to a special dinner at his residence in posh Banjara Hills in Mumbai on Monday.

"I attended a dinner at his house. He served the best Indian cuisine including briyani and thosai.

"I must say Malaysian (food) tastes 20 per cent less good than original Indian food. He also agreed to do one or two shoots for his new movie Happy New Year in Melaka later this year," Mohd Ali told Bernama during a brief visit to Hyderabad.

He said they also discussed establishing a film studio in Melaka to develop talents for the Malaysian movie industry.

"He (Khan) has a lot of experience in acting and movie production. He has given us his blessings, I hope he can give lectures and share his knowledge with us," added Mohd Rustam.

Two of Khan's movies, "One Two Ka Four" and "Don" were shot in the historical Melaka state.

Last November, the Melaka state government awarded him the title "Datuk" for promoting Melaka through his movies.
