British Prime Minister plays up Shahrukh connection

As he began his maiden Indian visit Wednesday, British Prime Minister David Cameron singled out Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, food and cricket as among the cultural bonds that tie Indians and Britons.

'We share so much culturally, whether it's watching Shah Rukh Khan, eating the same food or watching cricket,' Cameron said in an article entitled 'A stronger, wider and deeper relationship' in The Hindu, an Indian daily.

Setting a perfect pitch for his two-day India visit, Cameron underlined that he has come to India with the biggest and most diverse delegation to 'renew the relationship between India and Britain, to re-launch a relationship that is stronger, wider and deeper'.

Lauding India's growing economy and emergence on the global stage, Cameron wrote: 'In the U.S., they used to say: 'Go West, young man' to find opportunity and fortune. For today's entrepreneurs, the real promise is in the East.'

'I believe that to spread opportunity for all our people, from Delhi to Dundee, Bangalore to Birmingham, we would benefit from a common strategy for economic growth,' he wrote.

Aamir wants SRK to watch 'Peepli Live'

There used to be a time when Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan didn't exactly get along (Remember Aamir writing about having a dog named Shah Rukh, and that not going down too well with SRK?). Now things have changed, and it's possible that Karan Johar is the man for bringing about a proper patch-up between the two Khans.

Karan's always been very close to Shah Rukh, and he's been getting closer to Aamir. It sort of started with Aamir's nephew Imran being cast in KJo's 'I Hate Luv Storys' and then Aamir being the only non-cast member invited to the movie's success party. In turn, Aamir invited Karan to the music launch of his home production 'Peepli Live'.

Later, Aamir and Karan met up with Shah Rukh in London, where he's shooting for 'Ra.One'.

And now Aamir has invited Shah Rukh to the premiere of 'Peepli Live'. He said that SRK attended the 'Raavan' premiere, and that he'd definitely invite him for 'Peepli Live'. Now if only we saw a similar thawing and bonding between SRK and Salman too. Maybe Aamir could step in to bring them together.

Shahrukh Khan plays his cards well

Shahrukh Khan knows how to be in good books of everyone. No wonder, he is called King Khan of the tinsel town. And the latest example is, on one hand SRK got Karan Johar on board for directing the romantic mushy scenes in Ra. One and immediately left no space for any hard feelings in director Anubhav Sinha’s heart. Read on to know how?

Sinha, the actual director has been assigned to shoot the action-packed sequences in the film and SRK seems to be very happy with his work. “Anubhav Sinha took some awesome shots today. All were amazed. I am so excited by it all. Hope we can share this film with all of you soon,” tweets SRK.

Well, SRK seems to know how to strike a correct balance, isn’t it Mr. Khan?

SRK gets 'politically correct', gives birthday wishes to Shiv Sena supreme

Not too long ago, SRK was in the headlines for his heated tiff with Shiv Sena supreme, for his "support" towards the Pakistani cricketers in the IPL matches, around the time of his release My Name is Khan. Now he's back but this time it's for his gesture of friendship.

Shah Rukh's company has given a half page advert in the popular Sena mouth piece, Samna, with a congratulatory message. Though the advert doesn't mention it directly, it is for wishing Uddhav Thackeray on his 50th birth anniversary. The advert in question is sponsored by his company Red Chillies Entertainment that reads, "With Best Compliments From...Red Chillies Entertainment."

With this precisely "politically correct" gesture, we hope the ugliness between politics and films gets buried.
