IPL 2010: Kolkata Knight Riders beat Deccan Chargers by 24 runs

In the history of sports, there emerge players who should never be written off. Having come back from the brink in the longer versions of the game, Sourav Ganguly showed that the game is not over when it comes to T20 either. The 54-ball 88 was as well timed as some of the shots, for it handed the Kolkata Knight Riders a lifeline they were desperately seeking.

To say that Ganguly was under pressure coming into this game is an understatement. He was opening with moderate success, being unable to take advantage of the fielding restrictions in the first six overs or rotate the strike.

Eden Gardens on Thursday witnessed something different. Running between the wickets was not ideal, but the quality of shot production was as good as it could be.

The first ball of the match was impeccably timed over square-leg, the third towards the Ganguly Zone behind point and the show went on.

There was not much in terms of support from the other end barring David Hussey to an extent, but the skipper of the Knights was batting like a man possessed. There was a range of shots on display and after a long time, the spinners were imperiously hoisted into the stands.

It was as much a display of batting skills as character because the team needed this win badly to stay in reckoning for a semifinal berth. With Chris Gayle failing, the responsibility on Ganguly had multiplied and for once, he forced a smile from Shah Rukh Khan. A lot had been said and written about him in the recent past and the man used to such criticism chose the right time to hit back.

The Deccan Chargers were in it for a considerable period of time, but the slowness of the pitch and wickets at critical junctures derailed their chase. They were off to a good start, rattling up 59 in six overs and the asking rate was not beyond control up to some time. It's just that they lost wickets when they couldn't afford to. It was a collective effort by the Knights while bowling. While batting, it was obviously a one-man show which ultimately made the difference.

Shahrukh Khan has finally taken the decision to don the hat of director. And his debut venture will have none other than the queen of millions of hearts Deepika Padukone. SRK hasn't yet finalized on the male-lead.

SRK kas produced many films in past but for the first time he is planning to direct a film. If sources are to be believed, he is in talks with Saif Ali Khan and Ranbir Kapoor for the male lead. But SRK is ready with the plan B as well if the date issues creep in. And the plan B shall land him into the shoes of actor as well opposite Deepika who interestingly began her career with SRK.

Wonder, what Farah Khan has to say on that considering she had directed her both sometime years ago in Om Shanti Om. Well, if not director she definitely must be the first choice for choreographer. What say SRK?

April Fool folks, look at the calendar, we just fooled you.

With James Cameron having already spoiled the movie buffs with the out-of-the-world special effects in this mega-blockbuster 3-D film Avatar, Shahrukh Khan, who’s producing and acting in the sci-fi thriller Ra.One, wants the best special effects (SFX) as well.

We hear that the brief SRK has given out to director Anubhav Sinha is that ‘Ra.One’ should have the most visually stunning SFX yet seen in any Hindi film.

Sinha further has given instruction to the SFX team to watch and study the special effects in notable Hollywood movies like ‘Avatar’, ‘Star Wars’, ‘X-Men’, ‘Terminator’ and ‘2012’. The team is also sketching and making models of the most imaginative looking characters that might be incorporated in ‘Ra.One’.

SRK and Kareena Kapoor have started shooting the film. The SFX will be added in the post production stages.

Hrithik Roshan and Shahrukh Khan the two loving brothers of the film’Khabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham’, have begun to play their respective roles in real life too.

The two stars, when cast in that particular film, were not exactly in the best of relationships. Yet, there was a warm gesture of courtesy even then, between the two.

But, as destiny would have it, the star wives, that are Sussanne Roshan and Gauri Khan, have been the greatest of friends ever since they met. Thus, out of wedding bliss, the two actors have also started to gel well these days. According to sources, Hrithik has confessed that he respects the bollywood Baadshah a lot, as even when they were just formal, he always kept a warm feeling of greeting Hrithik whenever they met. Thus, Shahrukh is very much respected by Hrithik. He also said that now a days, the relationship quotient between the two was pure love and respect for each other.

However, Hrithik went on to clarify that the two were actually a part of a large friend circle. The whole gang had Karan Johar, Farhan Akhtar,Sanjay Kapoor, Uday Chopra, Chunkey Pandey, Arjun Rampal, Ritesh Sidhwani and of course the two of them in it.

Now, with such a big gang of friends, need we say that the effect of reel life might have seeped into the two stars’ minds, so, the brotherhood touch is coming a wee bit naturally in the minds of both of them. Thus, if the relationship quotient is beyond friendship, then it has to be that brotherly feeling, right?
