Name Shah Rukh Khan for help!

If you ever doubted Shah Rukh’s popularity around the globe then read this on. You would be surprised that his popularity goes beyond the Big B or Akki, he out runs all!

A group of tourists found themselves lost in the winding tangling streets of Naples and when no help came in the confusion of less English and more Italian. The tour group happened to meet a youngster named Giovanni who happened to be knowing India as the native country of Shah Rukh Khan.

With his broken Italian, English and Hindi he even sang Tujhe Dekha Toh Yeh Jana Sanam and claimed that his is a diehard fan of the actor. He even hopes to visit Mannat, Shah Rukh’s house.

Well, he guided the tour to their destination and when asked if he knows Amitabh Bachchan or Akshay Kumar, the response was negatives, he never heard of them.

He said “I love Shaaruk”. We also love him right? At least when lost we would remember to take his name!

Salman Khan rules out patch up with Shah Rukh Khan!

Salman Khan, the spoilt brat of bollywood who is known to be non-forgiving towards his foes and rivals, has ruled out any possibility of a patch up with Shah Rukh Khan after his break up with him at Katrina Kaif’s birthday party.

Salman Khan has given solid reasons behind his assertion by saying that Shah Rukh Khan did not miss him or was crying over there for him to go and embrace him. Sallubhai underlined the fact that Shah Rukh Khan was doing well professionally for himself and never felt the urge to patch up with him, and so where was the question of being friends again.

Salman Khan went to the extent of saying that even after doing successful flicks like ‘Karan Arjun’ with Shah Rukh, he had never been his buddy and or anything of the sort. They have always been different individuals with very little in common to attract them towards each other.

However, Salman Khan did not shied away from taking a dig at Shah Rukh Khan by saying that he was insecure and all problems arose due to this factor. Salman feels as the time went by and Shah Rukh Khan embraced success, fame, he became more and more insecure and their friendship went downwards in the same proportion.

Salman Khan recalls that if Shah Rukh Khan wanted they could have patched up on the same night (on Katrina Kaif’s birthday), and it would have been far easier. However, Shah Rukh Khan had some other agenda and decided to take the whole fight to an entirely different level the very next morning of the incident.

Salman Khan’s dislike for Shah Rukh Khan was also on display when he made light of King Khan’s detention in the US at an airport for second level of security checking by the safety staff. Salman had said that the security frisking was a normal and good thing and Shah Rukh should have submitted to it without any complaints. Salman had also reminded that due to US strict security regime they could safeguard themselves from the recurrence of 9/11 type of attacks.

However, despite of Salman Khan’s proclamations of otherwise, choreographer-turned –director Farah Khan has said that she would love to play a peacemaker between the two superstar Khans of bollywood. Earlier, Farah had Salman Khan on her television show ‘Tere Mere Beech Mein’ as first guest and plans to invite Shah Rukh Khan on the final episode of the show.

KKR coach to be decided by next month: SRK

Kolkata Knight Riders team owner Shah Rukh Khan said on Monday that the management will take time to make a final decision on the coach.

"It is a process. It will take another 3 to 4 meetings before we decide. We will decide by the middle or end of the month," SRK said.

He also ruled out John Wright being the front-runner for the job.

"There are lots of people in the running. We are looking for a team that is fully available," he added.

On his friend-turned-foe Salman Khan being interested in buying an IPL team, SRK said the IPL was a good product and anyone could bid for a team.

Shah Rukh also rebutted the reports of Ganguly taking over as the captain in the absence of Brendon McCullum.

"Lots of players may not be available, like Ponting, and even Gayle. We will see. Lots of time for that. First will decide on coach, then captain then team - all that only in December.

SRK also acknowledged that a letter was sent to the BCCI seeking reason for snapping ties with the International Management Group, the event management company.

These are big IPL decisions. We only ask to be kept in loop. We make lots of sponsorship decisions on the basis of the backbone of IPL. The letter is only for that.

We want to be kept in loop by IPL: Shah Rukh

Resenting the BCCI decision to terminate the contract of event management company IMG, Kolkata Knight Riders owner Shah Rukh Khan today said he wanted to be kept in the loop on all important decisions pertaining to the Indian Premier League.

"These are all important decisions. All we want is to be kept in the loop. A lot of our sponsorship deals depend on the backbone of the IPL," he told reporters after an internal function of the franchisee here.

Conceding he had written a letter protesting against the cancellation of IMG's contract by the BCCI, the Bollywood star said all he wanted was to be kept informed about key decisions by the IPL.

Time for America to ban racial profiling

Editor's note: Chandra Bhatnagar is a staff attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union's Human Rights Program and principal author of "The Persistence of Racial and Ethnic Profiling in the United States," recently submitted to the U.N. Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

Earlier this month, one of the biggest movie stars in the world was flying from Newark, New Jersey, to Chicago, Illinois, when he was allegedly pulled out of a security line and questioned and detained for over 1½ hours, apparently because of his Muslim name.

Bollywood megastar Shahrukh Khan is adored around the world, with an estimated fan base of 3.5 billion people. His fame merited a wax figure at Madam Tussauds in London, England.

Khan had come to the United States to participate in Indian Independence Day events in Chicago.

What is significant about Khan's experience is not simply that it happened. Indeed, prominent Indian travelers including former Indian president Abdul Kalam and Indian Nobel laureate Amartya Sen have also been victims of racial profiling at airports, and countless other Indian and other South Asian travelers (be they Muslim, Hindu, Sikh, or Christian) have been subjected to similar forms of profiling and scrutiny.

What makes Khan's case particularly stinging, however, is that he had just completed filming "My Name is Khan," a movie that deals with discrimination against Muslims in the United States in the post-9/11 environment. Yet, there he was, a famous movie star, experiencing a poignant example of life imitating art imitating life.

Internationally, and particularly in India, the Shahrukh Khan incident has generated a lot of attention and anger. Khan is a symbol of Indian national pride. The indignity he suffered is emblematic of the insults faced by countless other Indian and South Asian travelers, and has led to demonstrations and burnings of U.S. flags in protest.

However, the Khan case provides a chance for American society to re-examine the breadth and depth of racial profiling, its impact on minority communities in the United States, and its harm to America's reputation around the world.

Making a living as King Khan’s look-alike hasn’t been easy for Raju Rahikwar. He has made a documentary on it called, Living in King Khan’s Shadow. The 24 minute documentary is almost done except for a quote from Shahrukh Khan. Raju has tried hard to contact Shahrukh, but his efforts have been in vain.

Raju wants the world to know how he has come up in life. He just wants two minutes from Shahrukh, for that will complete his documentary. He reminisces on meeting the star many times and one time when he spoke to him at Holy Family Hospital in Bandra. He remembers Shahrukh being very humble. He had given Raju his office number and asked him to drop by. But Raju couldn’t.

He is sure that Shahrukh will meet him when he knows it is Raju trying to contact him.
