Shah Rukh has over 4 lakh followers on Twitter, is Bachchan Sr a bit envious?

Amitabh Bachchan, who joined Twitter some time ago, congratulated Shah Rukh Khan for having over 400,000 followers on the site.

"Congrats!! you crossed 400,000... meri gaadi thoda dheeli chal rahi hai (I'm at a slower pace at the moment)," the 67-year-old posted on his Twitter page.

Amitabh, who has become a regular on the site now, presently has 98,228 followers. While he writes on his Twitter page couple of times during the day, he also has a blog, a voice blog and a mobile blog.

As of now, he is following just five people on Twitter - Shah Rukh, son Abhishek, Sachin Tendulkar, Shammi Kapoor, and Suhel Seth.

When SRK ‘brushed’ aside illness

If you remember a few days back SRK’s twitter status was buzzing with updates on his bad health. However it did not stop him from keeping up to his professional commitments. Shah Rukh Khan who has been signed on by Pepsodent toothpaste, had to shoot for their latest campaign ‘Pappu and Pappa’ at Filmcity for 3 days.

The actor and a thorough professional that he is known to be, SRK made it a point to shoot instead of cancel it, he shot with 104 fever and without letting it affect the shots. The star did not complain throughout the long hours of shoot besides the numerous takes he was made to go through.

Additionally, Shah Rukh had to give multiple shots till his child co-star Keval got it all right! Onsets SRK behaved a perfect dad encouraging the boy at every cut, pepping the child he would get bored. This just reiterates that King Khan rules!

Hot Lara Dutta roped in for ‘Don 2’

After her oh-so-sexy bikini act in Blue, the Bollywood siren Lara Dutta has found another saucy role for her and soon she will be joining the stars Shahrukh Khan, Arjun Rampal and Priyanka Chopra for Farhan Akhtar’s much anticipated sequel Don 2. Atta gal!

So there are two junglee billi for Don this time? Well, as per reports, what Lara is going to do in the film is not known (well-guarded secret). But yes, she is going to set the screen on fire with her killing looks.

And she is not even replacing Esha Koppikar, who played Anita, a girl quite close to Don. According to sources, her character is new and the role is especially written for her. Since Don 2 is an action thriller, Lara has to learn a bit of martial arts.

We can imagine with two internationally crowned beauties Don 2 will be fully loaded with slick action and dollops of glamour.

Shahrukh Khan’s special screening for Hrithik-Barbara

Generally it happens that the makers of the film hold special screenings for friends and film fraternity. But Shahrukh Khan, in a party mood as usual, reportedly had a private screening of Kites for Hrithik Roshan, his wife Sussanne Roshan and Barbara Mori at Mannat.

According to a daily, it was a small party two days ago mainly attended by the friends of Shahrukh and Gauri. And since Hrithik was busy with the film’s promotion, it was Sussanne and Barbara who came first to the party. Hrithik arrived quite late and was welcomed with flattering compliments from everyone for his performance in ‘Kites’.

With reason or not, SRK knows how to enjoy life to the fullest.

SRK pokes fun at Gilly, Bhajji

He’s not only the box-office King, but King Khan is a thorough entertainer when he’s got the mic in hand. The witty Khan is known to throw more than a few pun-ches at award nights or other private functions. Such is his aura, that perhaps, he’s the only celebrity who pokes fun at cricketers straight in their faces. As always, our cricketers never seem to mind his punches.

Shahrukh Khan was at his wily best during the function organised by the Sahara group for the visiting Pakistani team and our Indian cricketers in 2008 at Lucknow. Khan, who owns the IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders, had everyone in splits with his whacky puns during the recently held IPL Awards.

Often, Harbhajan Singh is at the forefront of SRK’s jokes. At the IPL awards, Khan took a potshot at Bhajji’s model girlfriend, Geeta Basra.

“Bhajji apka ghar kab Basra hai?” quipped SRK. While a blushing Bhajji couldn’t help break in to laughter, before SRK bounced the next question “Gita ki kasam kha kar kaho?”

The attention turned towards SRK’s KKR captain Sourav Ganguly. Khan asked Ganguly to sing Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo’ – the official anthem of the Kolkata Knight Riders. Rahul Dravid, who was sharing the stage then, butted in and asked Ganguly not to use the word Jeetbo (win). Through its three-year history, KKR haven’t won many matches in the IPL.

The best jokes were reserved for former Aussie wicket-keeper and Deccan Chargers skipper Adam Gilchrist. The poor Australian wicket keeper was the culprit of badly interpreted Hindi. Gilly was taught to say “I love your country” in Hindi by none other than SRK himself. The result, Gilly proudly recited “Main tumhare bachche ki maa banne waali hu”. This left the audience in splits and made Gilly realize that he has been held the scapegoat of SRK’s antics!

Now, all those Shahrukh Khan fans who can recognize the superstars voice even in pitch darkness, should be able to connect to the voice over in the introductory scene from Dharma productions, ‘I Hate luv story’s’.

Reportedly, the movie, directed by newbie director Punit Malhotra, is taking every precautionary measure to make the flick into a downright hit.

As Shahrukh Khan is the epitome of romance, with his image of a teenager who is full of life and love blossoming in every area of life possible, has had most of his earlier films based on puppy love.

Thus, director Punit Malhotra and producer Karan Johar, who is a very close friend of SRK’s, convinced the super star to lend his voice to the forth-coming flick. ‘I Hate Luv Story’s’, which is based on the mindset of two youngsters, with different perspectives regarding love.

There have been quite a few offers for Shahrukh in the past, where he has been offered to lend his voice for movies, but every time, he has refused. However, this time, with his best friend requesting him, he just could not say ‘no’.

So, all those who watch the movie, will get an additional benefit of listening to SRK‘s voice introducing the two love lorn teenagers, Sonam Kapoor and Imran Khan.

SRK's Childhood connections with Mangalore!

The King of bollywood, Shahrukh Khan, has had an emotional outburst, after hearing of the tragedy of the Air India Express Boieng, in Mangalore on Saturday the 22nd of May.

Almost every star in bollywood has twittered about the Mangalorean tragedy, and paid their condolences.

However, it was Shahrukh Khan’s twitter that made the most touching sentiments come out from his heart, the most interesting. Reportedly, the Baadshah of bollywood has had his early childhood days spent in Mangalore.

The super star has mentioned in his twitter, that his grand father was an engineer in chief, at the Mangalorean port. He has also mentioned that, there are many pictures, of his early childhood days, which were taken in the port city.

There is also mention about his heartfelt grief striken message, for the people who had so suddenly lost their near and dear ones in the air crash that tragically took 158 lives at a stretch.

Well, Shahrukh Khan is one of those celebrities who have never shied away from helping people whenever the need arises, and with this tragedy, perhaps his roots from the place, made him get a little emotional, as it must have made him nostalgic.
