I can't imagine one day without Gauri: Shahrukh Khan

For actor Shah Rukh Khan, family is his greatest wealth and the constant factor that made him single-mindedly focus on reaching the top. He pours his heart out to DNA on how his family is his secret behind his wellness and determination.

“I think God has been really kind to me. I treasure my family without whom I would not be whoI am today. They have sacrificed for me and they are the reason why I love going back home. For me, success is very important but being successful along with having a great family is necessary. You need to share your success with your family because it is not just for you that you are working,” Khan tells DNA.

“I want to see my family happy all the time as when I see them happy, I am at peace. As humans we crave love and it is very important to love and be loved. I’m thankful that I have people who have loved me and supported me through things that might have broken me as a person. It is because of them that I have always found strength,” he adds.

For the Deewana of India, wife Gauri Khan is his pillar of strength. “I can’t imagine one day without Gauri. I have crazy working schedules through the year and I know how much effort she puts in to look after our home, our kids and even me. I rely on her for everything. She is the reason why we have a good, happy and healthy family. Gauri is a fine mother as I can see her imparting crucial values to my children,” Khansays.

King Khan adds, “I believe parenting is the toughest job in the world as it is parents who shape how their children will grow up to be. A mother’s role is very important as she is the closest to the child. When I look at my children, I feel safe that Gauri pays so much attention to them. I’m surprised how she has everything planned and how she knows what we need all the time. When I’m all over the place, I fall back upon Gauri. She touches everything about my life,” he ends.

This is second time SRK has worn lungi; it was on the sets of Kaun Banega Crorepati 3 when SRK experimented with the attire. Looks like, SRK is leaving no stones unturned to make a picture perfect out of Ra. One.

Buzz is that Shah Rukh has said okay to a film project featuring his son Aryan. The producers have shown interest in casting Khan Jr in a story that deals with the relationship between a teenage son and his dad.

Even though there's no confirmation from SRK, sources reveal that he's considering the idea. Wonder if Will Smith approves.

How could you, SRK?

Has actor Shah Rukh Khan extended an olive branch to Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray? If the latest issue of Saamna, the political party’s mouthpiece, is anything to go by, it seems he has. Last morning, the newspaper carried an advertisement wishing Uddhav on his birthday. It read: ‘With
best compliments’ from Red Chillies Entertainment, the production house owned by Shah Rukh Khan.

Not long back, SRK and the Sena were at loggerheads, when the Sena took offense to SRK saying he had nothing against Pakistani cricketers playing in the IPL. The Sena threatened to disrupt the release of SRK’s film My Name Is Khan.

Thus, Shah Rukh wishing Uddhav comes as a surprise to many. Calling it a ‘personal warm gesture’, Shiv Sena spokesperson Rahul Navrekar says, “I don’t know whether Shah Rukh has done it himself or someone from the production house did it.

SRKWe had no personal animosity with SRK; we were just against the statements he made. So, if he has realised it (his mistake), we are happy.” However, Shah Rukh may not even be aware of the ad. While both he and his manager remained unavailable for comment, a source close to the actor revealed, “Shah Rukh is currently in London.

Bobby Chawla, the CEO of the production house, is hospitalised. In all likelihood, he doesn’t even know of this.” Surprised, Samar Khan of Red Chillies Entertainment said, “I have not heard of any such ad. I just look after the TV division of the company.”

The actor’s fans are not too pleased. “The entire country supported SRK during the MNIK controversy. His about- turn is disappointing,” says Divya Dua, 21. “I don’t believe this! I thought he was a real hero,” says Mukul Jain, 26.

But, the actor does have some support. “It’s a positive move. Whoever makes the first move is a hero and SRK has proved he is one,” says industry analyst Komal Nahata. “SRK has turned an enemy from yesterday to a friend today. It’s a moment to rejoice,” says filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt.
