King Shahrukh Khan & Queen Madhuri Dixit Arrived in India

After a prolonged shooting stretch in Germany, SRK returned India on Eid eve.

His homecoming on Eid is the biggest gift he could have given his fans. The shutterbugs had already lined up at the airport terminal to capture the return of King Khan on their lens and expectedly there was hysterical commotion on his entry. So much was the madness outside the airport that one photographer was literally swept off his feet. The gentleman that Shah Rukh is, he helped the photographer get back on his feet.

Incidentally actress Madhuri Dixit arrived in India around the same time. Shah Rukh Khan has always been a huge admirer of Madhuri Dixit. The two stars just missed each other by few minutes. Hopefully the two can catch up sometime soon with Madhuri being in India for some time for her new assignments.

Shah Rukh Khan has been shooting nonstop for his upcoming film Don 2 – The Chase Continues in Berlin. In fact he celebrated his birthday as well as Diwali out of country. It's always great to have him back.

Shahrukh the first James Bond of India

Action is the mantra for Shahrukh Khan, this season. The Bollywood actor seems to be in love with the genre at present. Though the audience is more used to watching the King Khan in romantic roles, SRK is all set to set screens on fire with action in his upcoming releases Don 2 and Ra.One. One look at the actor’s newly acquired lean structure is enough to confirm the fact that he has been sweating it out to become the first James Bond of India.

First of the two action films featuring Shahrukh Khan in the lead is Farhan Akhtar’s Don 2. While the director had already improved on the older version of Don, he plans to make the sequel even more stylish and action-packed. And it is for this reason that Farhan Akhtar is taking a leaf out of the books of Hollywood action hero James Bond. The crew of the film is presently shooting in the German capital Berlin and it has been reported that while a body double will be used for the extreme sequences, SRK himself will perform some of the stunts shown in the film. In fact the actor has also had an accident while performing the acts in Berlin.

Following the Don 2 act is Ra.One, for which Shahrukh Khan will have to perform more stunts considering that he will play a superhero in the movie. Ra.One is being touted as one of the most ambitious projects undertaken by the actor in his flourishing career. Action or no action, we love Shahrukh and will be waiting for his films to hit theaters.

Shah Rukh Khan’s kids are my God-children: Karan Johar

“I am everything that a child can be. At 38, I am still as dependant on my mother as I used to be when I was a child. I am a messy eater and I have bad eating habits. I have a poor sense of time management and need constant mothering,” are some of the candid confessions from Karan Johar, one of the leading filmmakers in the country. “On Children’s Day, everyone must celebrate the child in them,” he adds.

Single and eligible, the filmmaker reveals he does not miss having kids of his own. And the reason? “Shah Rukh’s kids (Suhana and Aryan) are my God-children. They are a Godsend and I dote on them completely! I regard them as my own children. Besides, I’m also fond of my cousins’ daughters. So, there, I have so many children!” he adds.

Currently, his show Koffee with Karan is the much-talked-about show on air. On being asked what makes the biggest of stars confess their secrets to him on national television, Karan attributes this to the comfort factor.

“It’s all about lounging around and having a good time with your close pals. The cameras are just incidental. So, there’s no strategy, no script and no agenda. It’s all about some conversations over coffee. So, you should not expect some over-the-top philosophy... I’m just having a fun time with my friends and I’m inviting everybody to be a part of it,” Karan says.

Karan informs that My Name Is Khan is getting released in China on November 30 this year. “I am proud to say that My Name is Khan has become India’s first true global film. It has got a tremendous response at the Berlin Film Festival and the foreign box office collections of the film are stupendous. It is now getting released in China after France and Germany. I must also thank Fox Pictures for giving me such great support,” he adds.

SRK not my pal: Makrand

Makrand Deshpande, the "Makdee" guy, has come to be better known as Shah Rukh Khan's friend in recent times, thanks to his directorial venture "Shahrukh Bola Khoobsurat Hai Tu", which revolves around Shah Rukh complementing a girl for his looks and how that affects her life.

Shah Rukh also makes a special appearance in the film. But Makrand dispels all misconceptions about his relationship with the superstar. "Shahrukh is not my friend; it is he who calls me his friend," he clarifies and goes on to elaborate, "SRK and I have known each other before we worked together in " Circus" but I have never called him my friend. Bollywood is mostly about professional contacts." So what about news that the SRK had had a falling out with his friends in Bollywood? "When people have worked with Shah Rukh for years, they start considering him their friend. But a man like him, I doubt, has time to either keep his friends happy or fight with them. And these rifts come when he can't do favours for his friends," replies the filmmaker.

But according to Makrand, Shah Rukh was not irreplaceable for his film, though he was the first choice. "I don't think any other Khan in the industry can have the same impact as SRK has on others. There is a clear difference between his aura and others'," he says. But if not Shah Rukh, the film then would have been based on Mr Perfectionist in Bollywood. "Though it would not impact a girl much if Aamir told her ki tu khoobsurat hai, yet he would be my second choice for the movie since he is a very good teacher and even in real life people listen to him," he reasons.

But his upcoming film aside, Makrand has also been playing cameos in films and serials. However, his cameo in "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi" extended into a rather long one. "TV doesn't interest me much, and I made an appearance on "Kyunki..." only because of the continuous persistence of Ekta Kapoor. She told me that it was like a cameo and I only had to shoot for eights days. But unfortunately, as I would call it, the character picked up so well that I was told I can't leave the show just like that and had to shoot for several months before I could call it quits. I became the hot topic of discussion among women at kitty parties," laughs Makrand, who will now be playing another cameo in the serial "Bhagowali".

And Makrand believes that it is his signature style – the overgrown hair and the salt-and-pepper beard – that fetches him roles. So want as much as he may, to change his look, he can't. "In our industry the acting prowess of an actor is hardly put under consideration; it is basically his looks and his popularity that is kept in mind while handing out roles. This weird look of mine has been quite popular. People like to see me like this and so writers write roles keeping my look in mind. My next films "My Friend Pinto" and "Guzaarish" with Sanjay Leela Bhansali have me in almost the same look," he shares, adding, "I am excited about the latter because I've worked with my favourite lady in Bollywood, Aishwarya in the film. And thanks to Hrithik who suggested my name for the small role that I have in the movie," he smiles.

Shahrukh Khan: Interesting Tale of the Taxi Ride

Don 2 actor Shahrukh Khan has got a fan following that can be traced to every part of the globe and Berlin, certainly, is no different. In fact, every night when SRK returns to his hotel he finds a plethora of fans waiting outside for the King.

And SRK humbly acknowledges their presence and signs autographs for them. At times, he even sends out some refreshments for those waiting for hours. SRK is big in Germany and one interesting story revolves around a taxi ride.

After the day’s shooting wrapped up for Don 2, SRK and the crew indulged in some football-playing in a nearby ground. It went on till the wee hours of the morning after which SRK decided to have some coffee. Instead of opting for the car, he decided to hail a cab.

However, the cab driver was quick to spot his passenger and refused to accept payment from him. Even though Shahrukh insisted, the driver only asked for his pic since his daughter was a die-hard fan of the Indian actor.

SRK obliged and the driver’s daughter must be a happy child by now. Interestingly, actor Orlando Bloom, who was stationed at the same hotel, got pissed off by the surge of paparazzi thinking they had queued up for him. However, he was taken aback when he was told that the mob had assembled for Shahrukh Khan and not for him. After all, ‘11 mulkon ki police Don ko dhoondh rahi hai’.
