SRK to shoot his sci-fi film in Miami

Shah Rukh Khan is set to get into a superhero garb in the US. And he couldn't find a better backdrop for his sci-fi film than American beach town Miami.

Far from a grungy and dark setting, the Bollywood super-actor's special avatar will move to the sun-and-sand beaches for his next movie venture Ra. One. Adding to the hype in India, the local media in Miami has been agog over the prospect of King Khan heading to the city.

"A much- needed boost for the south Florida economy could be coming all the way from India, with song and dance sequences. The second major Bollywood film production (after Karan Johar's Dostana) in the city in the last 12 months is set to get underway in Miami in February 2010, and this one is even bigger than the last," states NBC Miami . SRK has been described as "Bollywood's answer to Hollywood stars Brad Pitt and George Clooney rolled into one". "In the film, he plays a Miami software engineer who accidentally gives life to a techo-monster that will go on to terrorise several parts of the city," states the report. It's believed that the real benefit of SRK's presence will be seen in drawing in tourists during the film's shooting.

SRK, on his part, is already excited about the project. He writes on his newly- launched Twitter account that he is playing Arkham Asylum - The Batman "because the next film is based on a video-game". The movie will be directed by Tum Bin director Anubhav Sinha.

Miami Today reports: "It's a superhero film, much like Superman or Spiderman, but instead of being set in a darker and grittier Gotham, the producers chose the exotic sun-and-sand of Miami for the backdrop." King Khan, meanwhile, is waiting for the release of his much-awaited film, My Name Is Khan.
