ShahRukh Khan to Build Sports Complex, theme parks, Stadiums and Luxury hotels In Debt Trapped Dubai!

Heard of the recent trap in the real Estate scene of Dubai? Well, there are several film stars and high profile men and women who have their money invested in the property of the up market arena which is real money playground for the rich and famous. However, even though the Dubai based company ‘Dubai World’ which is a government company, has asked for time to repay it’s debt of an astounding sum of $59 million which has all speculating on the fact that Emirates itself is going through rough times, ShahRukh has turned out to be the most sought after star there.

It has been reported from very reliable sources that ShahRukh has come into a joint venture with many high end emirates property developers to get a stadium built as part of one big entertainment complex in Dubai. As Dubai is going through very tough times due to recession which has resulted in the crash of the real estate market and a huge debt on the economy of the glamorous city, ShahRukh has come up with this concept along with other developers so that the economy might roll over to a high again.

ShahRukh is the unofficial brand Ambassador of the Dubai Tourism Development Company.

He is also reported to have a hand in developing a $2.2 billion beach front residential complex at Ras Al Khaimas -an adjoining emirate called The ShahRukh Khan Boulevard.

Even though this particular residential project has been stalled for the time being, the Stadium is going to be built in a very fast and steady pace.

The project is called the Dubai Holding which is a state owned company. There are almost 45 projects to be included in it. There are theme parks, Stadiums and Luxury hotels. Even state of the art sports training facilities will be given to the weaker sections of society there.

There are plans to host international cricket matches at this venue and sources reveal that all his bollywood shows in Dubai will be staged there too.

If all goes well then there are plans by the actor to get a residential villa built in Ras Al Khaimah also. This he plans to get built just like his home in Mumbai.

According to sources this is going to be a mega budget project with an estimated expenditure of about 360 million Arab Emirates Dirham or Rs 455 crore.

So now we know why ShahRukh is called King Khan. Keep it up ShahRukh.

Shahrukh Khan to shoot superhero film in Miami

Actor Shahrukh Khan is reportedly set to arrive in Miami the first week of January for two months of shooting for his next film, RA-1, an action flick in which Khan will play a superhero.

The choice of location comes as a surprise since Khan said last August that he wasn’t eager to return to the U.S. after he was detained and questioned by immigration officials at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey while he was en route to an Indian independence celebration in Chicago. Khan, who is Muslim, was also visiting the U.S. to promote his upcoming film, My Name is Khan, which is about racial profiling of Muslims in the U.S. The incident made headlines worldwide and outraged many Indians.

My Name is Khan is expected to release in February, when the actor will presumably be in the U.S.

'Dulha Mil Gaya' - Theatrical Trailer

Sushmita Sen plays the ‘queen of oomph’ while Fardeen Khan plays the ‘prince of confusion’ in the upcoming matrimonial comedy titled Dulha Mil Gaya. Shahrukh Khan, who has a guest appearance in the film, is the ‘king of love’ who doles out valuable tips on the matters of the heart.

Bumbling Fardeen, sexy Sush, and suave SRK make a colourful troika in this comedy of romance and heartaches. Don’t believe us? Check it out here:

The film is directed by Mudassar Aziz and produced by Viveck Vaswani. It’s been shot mostly in Malaysia and Trinidad and Tobago. Its shooting got stretched because SRK was too busy with other commitments; also because producer Vaswani, who’s a friend of SRK, allegedly elongated SRK’s role in the movie and wanted more dates from the superstar.

With music by Lalit Pandit and choreography by Ahmed Khan and Howard Rosemeyer, the film is set to release in January next year.

Aamir seeks to mend fences with SRK

If it was a fight between the Khans before the release of Ghajini and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, it seems that there is now going to be peace before the release of 3 Idiots and My Name is Khan. Aamir Khan has taken the first step towards burying the hatchet with Shah Rukh Khan.

The actor apologised to Shah Rukh and his family on a talk show on Saturday night. When he was told that Shah Rukh's children, who were his fans, were upset with him because of his blog, Aamir said, "I really respect Shah Rukh, especially because he is a family man. He takes care of his family. If I have hurt their sentiments, I offer my unconditional apology to Shah Rukh and his family.''

Aamir denied that he called Shah Rukh the number 2 star. "I had said I consider Sachin Tendulkar as the numero uno, but he does not say that himself.''

On the remark about calling his dog SRK, Aamir said it was said as a joke. He no longer calls the dog Shah Rukh, but calls him Shaaki.

Vishal wants to work with SRK

Vishal Bhardwaj and Shah Rukh Khan had a fall-out a long time ago. They have buried the hatched now and are all set to work together.

A few years ago, Vishal took a script to SRK, who demanded several changes be made if he were to be part of the film. Vishal didn’t want to make any changes, so he and SRK didn’t work together. Now, however, things are different.

A source tells us, ‘SRK and Vishal met up last week and had a long discussion. This obviously means they have buried their past differences and are looking forward to working together. In fact, Gauri attended a special screening of Kaminey and SRK also sent Bhardwaj a message appreciating the film.’

In an earlier interview, Bhardwaj expressed keen interest on working with SRK and said that he is one of the few directors who will bring out the actor in him and project him as someone totally different. We can take Vishal’s word on this, as he gave metrosexual Saif an image makeover when he him cast as the vile villager Langda Tyagi in Omkara, glamourous Priyanka Chopra as a simple Marathi mulgi, and he gave chocolate boy Shahid a kamina, naughty and sexy makeover when he cast him as Charlie in Kaminey, the toughest role and the finest performance of his career. So, we can trust Vishal to present SRK in a never-before-seen light.

However, Vishal will have to wait a while before he works with SRK as the latter is currently busy with the pre-production of Ra.One and the promotion of My Name is Khan, and will start shooting for Don 2 in mid-2010.

Shah Rukh Khan all set to build stadium in Dubai

Shah Rukh Khan is in no mood to let his cricket venture ‘Kolkata Knight Riders’ bite the dust. His fortunes in the game of cricket might be on a major decline but that hasn’t deterred him to any extent. The actor is all set to come up with a cricket stadium in Dubai.

According to reports, SRK apparently plans to open a cricketing stadium in Dubai. The actor is said to have some land in Dubai and he’s planning to develop that into a huge stadium soon. He is believed to be teaming up with some UAE based developers.

It is learnt that SRK`s decision to take on this project comes from the fact that he wants to provide free coaching and assistance to needy and underprivileged players who cannot bear the expenses. The stadium will apparently be equipped to the hilt.

“When operational, the ground will have all the facilities to host international cricket matches and even other global sporting events. SRK is a dearly loved Indian star in the country and this is his way of giving it back to them. He will frequent the place more often than what he used to. The place might also become a venue for his stage shows in that land”, says a source.

"There is no religion of terrorism," said Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan in New Delhi Sunday evening at a public event a year after the Mumbai terror attacks.

"Indian civilisation does not distinguish in terms of religion. We are an impossible achievement in the world and I'm very proud to be an Indian," he added, speaking at public event held at the sprawling lawns of the India Gate to show the nation's solidarity against terrorism.

"No one can have two viewpoints about terrorism. There is no religion of terrorism. I am often asked my viewpoint on this, maybe because I am a Muslim and I am very proud to be a Muslim," said Shah Rukh.

"But I have read the Quran, listened to the Gita, acted in Ram Leela... and learnt Christianity besides being a Muslim... My friends and I have worked on a film on Buddha (Asoka) and my wife is a Punjabi," the super star stressed.

Shah Rukh joined a number of celebrities, eminent personalities from the worlds of arts and literature, and political leaders and school children to mark "A Nation In Solidarity Against Terror" event organised under the aegis of the ministry of home affairs (MHA).

Also present at the event were Home Minister P Chidambaram, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, lyricist Javed Akhtar, journalist Shekhar Gupta, shooter Abhinav Bindra and tennis player Sania Mirza to name a few.

Singers Shreya Ghosal, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Shankar Mahadevan and violinist Dr L Subramaniam also performed at the event.

With a message "Terror has no religion. Our solidarity, courage and resoluteness are the answer to the threat of terror", it was hosted by actress-activist Nandita Das and directed by one-film old Feroz Abbas Khan.

Produced and managed by Wizcraft International Entertainment, the event was held a year after the final day when the siege in Mumbai last year ended (Nov 29, 2008).

It was supported by organisations including ONGC, Airtel, SAIL, State Bank of India, Apollo Tyres, Mahindra, Amity University, Reliance Industries, Reliance ADAG, GAIL, Aircel and Jet Airways.

A new Bollywood film that explores the popularity of Shah Rukh Khan, has the actor's name in its title and features conversations about him is wooing audiences at the annual film festival in Goa.

Khan also has a two-minute cameo in "Shahrukh Bola Khoobsurat Hai Tu", about a flower girl in Mumbai whose life changes after a chance meeting with the actor who tells her that she is beautiful.

"To change ugliness to beauty, that is the power of a star. I have seen Shah Rukh becoming that kind of a star over the years," director Makrand Deshpande told reporters at the 40th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in the tourist haven of Goa.

Khan, 44, is one of India’s biggest stars, having acted in Bollywood films for nearly two decades, and has a massive fan following.

"If he hadn't worked so hard to become that, this film wouldn't have been made," Deshpande said.

Deshpande, an actor himself, said he hoped to release the film in cinemas early next year and admitted that Khan's name would help promote "Shahrukh Bola Khoobsurat Hai Tu".

"Yes, my film will definitely benefit from the fact that it has Shah Rukh Khan's name in it, at least till the marketing and publicity stage. After that it will work on its own merit," said Deshpande.

The film had its premiere at the film festival in Goa.

Shahrukh Khan leaves a peace message

Shah Rukh Khan was part of a peace drive in memory of the 26/11 victims.

Mumbai, which is still trying to recover from the scars of last year's 26/11 terrorist attacks, marked the first anniversary of the horrific incident, by lighting candles outside the Gateway of India and at the Taj Hotel and prayed for tranquility and a brighter hope for the city that saw 166 innocent people killed without reason.

Mumbaikars went around the Taj Hotel; one of the sites attacked by terrorists, chanting slogans of peace and reminiscencing about those who had died last year during a three day siege.

"We want peace. We have come to pay homage to our soldiers who laid their lives for us and for the country," said Shakuntla Devi, a local.

Hundreds of youngsters, men and women, drew paintings, wrote peace messages and put hand impressions on a one-and-a-half-kilometer long wall on Wednesday (November 25) - saying the city stood united against any future attacks on this cosmopolitan fabric.

Some of the peace messages and symbols like red paint symbolising blood, black paint symbolising fear and death and messages like 'we will not forget' featured prominently on the wall.

Shaina NC, a Mumbai-based fashion designer-turned politician, and one of the brains behind the wall, said the wall was an outlet for Mumbai residents to pour out their feelings.

"I think Mumbai is definitely more sensitive, if you take this as a viewing what has happened today in this one-and-half-kilometer you will see how beautifully people envisage a brighter future, a future of unity, and that happens with togetherness," she said.

Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan also wrote his own message of peace on the wall.

Ten gunmen had landed on Mumbai shores by boats at sunset on November 26, 2008 and fired randomly inside a railway station, a Jewish settlement, a cafe and two luxury hotels.

Several people were held hostage for the next three days and at least 166 died before commandoes smoked out the last of the terrorists on November 28 last year.

One gunman, Mohammed Ajmal Kasab, who claims to be Pakistani national, was taken alive and is presently, facing trial in a special court in Mumbai. (ANI)
