Caution, men at work

He happily says 'main hoon na' to any and every request put forth by Shah Rukh Khan.

Yasin Khan with his fashionably bald pate is one of the most recognised faces in Bollywood's bodyguard circuit. The son of a retired cop, trained as a bodyguard, determined to protect none other than Shah Rukh Khan. With the steadfast loyalty of a devotee, he waited out seven months, landing up at Mumbai's Mannat, before his idol SRK gave in. Today, he can be seen hovering around SRK 24x7. A petulant SRK complained bitterly when Yasin wasn't granted a visa to accompany him to the US. Insiders say that King Khan recently bought him a flat in Mumbai.

It's a dream job for many men with muscle. But it's not easy being a Bollywood bodyguard. The strongmen must protect their celebrities from overenthusiastic fans, lecherous louts and malicious stalkers. They also have to be sensitive to the celeb's mood. Shadows of celebrities, they are privy to every little move their charges make. Bodyguards must also know the delicate art of keeping secrets. Which is what led to Gurmeet Singh Shera - bodyguard to Bollywood's enfant terrible Salman Khan - falling out for a brief while with the star. The beefy Shera, who runs a security agency named Tiger Security, fell foul of Salman when he got drunk and spilled the beans on some closely guarded secrets. Salman booted him out. After a sobered Shera profusely apologised, the superbrat with a heart relented.
