Fauji 2, slated for Colors in 2010, is being produced by SRK's Red Chillies Idiot Box Productions. Casting is taking time the creative team is looking for the right candidates to play the various roles. Several fresh faces are also being considered.

The source further adds, "Red Chillies is keeping things under wraps for now so no one wants to go on record at this juncture."

Shah Rukh will always be my idol: Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra has thousands of fans, but who is the actress's all-time idol? The man she admires most is adored by millions across the globe as well... who else but superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

'Shah Rukh Khan is my idol and has always been. He has been a favourite actor of course, but I really look up to him also as a person . Looking at where he came from and how he became who he is today, I find it extremely fascinating,' Priyanka told IANS in an interview.

King Khan likes to hit it straight and simple

He says he hates wearing suits and ties, maths kills him and business is just too much work. But actor-entrepreneur Shah Rukh Khan has not done too badly for himself as an entertainer-businessman either. His business, Red Chillies, has grown from a small seven-heads mom-and-pop show to a production house that has diversified into every aspect of the entertainment business, from films to TV commercials, telly serials to special effects studio. And with the Kolkata Knight Riders, he has forayed into what he says will be the next big thing for India. “Typically, developing countries move from roti, kapda, makaan to entertainment and finally, sports... India is no longer developing and we are on the threshold of moving from entertainment to sports,” he says. “And I want to be there and be a part of it.”

In business as in entertainment, King Khan’s mantra is pretty much the same: Keep it basic and simple. That’s part of the reason why brand SRK has been so successful for so long. “I stand for entertainment,” he says. “Brand building stands for the basic truth your grandma told you... work hard, be simple, keep it simple, have fun and make the organisation feel it was value for money.”

That mantra extends to his business as well. For Khan, the business bottomline is simple: You can’t lose money with the king. “My first rule of business is I have to make sure you gain from the business,” he says. “When people say big star, King Khan etc, it’s a big burden... and I am like God. Now if they work with me and lose, it really sucks... you can’t lose with the king, can you?”

That positioning is backed by some smart marketing and even smarter PR. Tongue firmly in cheek, Khan says he’s not really as smart as people think he is. ”You become smart when you’re in trouble.” That’s what made him rope in some of the brands he endorses into films he makes like Om Shanti Om and the IPL team he owns. “I believed in IPL. It’s a great idea,” he says. “I explained the big picture to friends like Nokia and they came on board. I said no matter how well or badly my team plays, this is a winning idea.”

Of course, he’s very clear that it doesn’t pay to be a stand-up comedian for two people. “The first rule of entertainment is mass communication. You just have to get enough people in the room,” he says. That’s where marketing comes in — something that he has mastered with hits like Om Shanti Om. “You gotta market the film according to its nature to make it work,” he says. So, retro OSO was over the top and Chak De more subdued.

That marketer mantra helped sell KKR even though for both seasons it ended up at the bottom of the pile. The Knight Riders did not win too many games, but the team did not lose any money, breaking even and making profits from day one. “Yes, I read in The Economic Times that KKR is making money,” he says. “It’s like you make a flop film and you make money. It doesn’t make me happy. We made some bad decisions.... sports decisions. But I am gonna win this on the field. I won’t sell the team. This is the last year when we have a chance and we have to win. My children get depressed when we lose. If I hadn’t hurt myself, I’d start playing. I’d be a better coach, maybe. I’d give my Chak De speech. It would have worked... it worked with the girls.”

As a sportsman, he may be hurting that his team isn’t top of the IPL heap, but Khan is smart enough to realise that his business is all about Brand SRK. That’s the way of the entertainment world. “The entertainment business is all about personalities. You call it brand, I call it personality. In that way, it’s different from other products. Whether it’s Walt Disney, James Cameron, Quintin Tarantino... they have a personality and their films are an extension of that and that’s enter-tainment for people like me.” That’s probably why the old Red Chillies corner room also has King Khan written on the door. “It’s the king’s company, after all,” he jokes.

Building that brand in Bollywood may be his forte, but Khan isn’t a hands-on CEO. “I don’t need to run this company,” he says. “I don’t like cracking deals, power lunches, flying jetliners. I don’t sit on contracts... I am just the ideas guy.”

As Red Chillies grows from a 100-member team to 1,000 with a new office, “doing much better”, SRK sees himself more as the ideas per-son. “Red Chillies will have CEOs, COOs, CFOs, UFOs, FOs,” he jokes. “I hope they’ll give me a small room and say you’re the ideas guy... just do the ideas thing.”

For all his ideas spiel, what makes Khan, the CEO, tick is his paranoia. “It’s nice to travel first class, but I should be able to afford the tickets first,” he says. “So I work, work, work. I don’t count chickens or eggs. Maybe that’s why I am successful.” At Red Chillies too is work-round-the-clock. “Most of the businesses aren’t hugely profitable, but we break even. We keep things cheap and fast. But beyond breaking even and making profits, we have great fun doing it,” he says.

Shah Rukh Khan has decided to follow up My Name is Khan with the superhero movie Ra. 1.

The Bollywood veteran had to choose between Farah Khan's Happy New Year and the action film, which will be directed by Cash's Anubhav Sinha.

Khan and Farah worked together on box office hits such as Om Shani Om and Maine Hoon Haa, but the actor opted for Ra. 1 to impress his children.

He told New Kerala: "I want to put on my tights and my kids' blanket on my back. I want to do this film for my children.

"I’ve always wanted to make a superhero film, but I never had six-pack abs. Now that I have them, I want to do this. It’s not an animation film, as many people believe - I would like to clarify that. It’s a live-action film."

According to a source, the actor has already started exercising intensively for the role.

Nobody can do it better than SRK, says Salman Khan

For the first time after their public falling-out last year, Salman Khan has praised Shah Rukh Khan. The accolades were for SRK's professionalism and his intense performances in romantic roles.

Salman had walked out of friend Katrina Kaif's birthday party on July 16, 2008, after a spat with Shah Rukh. The actors have not been on the best of terms since then.

But in the yet-to-be-aired episode of his reality show 10 Ka Dum, Salman heaped praise on the other Khan. The episode features Riteish Deshmukh and Govinda, who were promoting their film Do Knot Disturb.

Salman asked Riteish, who is known for his mimicking talent, to imitate someone, a source working on the sets of the show told DNA. After Riteish mimicked Shah Rukh, Salman complimented him and said: "When it comes to romantic scenes, Shah Rukh is outstanding. Nobody can do it better than Shah Rukh Khan. He has the intensity in his eyes and is utterly romantic."

Salman went on: "Professionally, Shah Rukh is simply great." DNA has a copy of the taped transcript of Salman's comments.

The source said that Salman knew that Riteish's favourite scene was from Shah Rukh's Dil Toh Paagal Hai, but he still asked him to imitate it.

Anita Basu, the producer of 10 Ka Dum, said: "Salman has been very gracious in his compliments about Shah Rukh. No snide remark was passed. Salman is a thorough professional who likes SRK's work and he acknowledged it when people asked his about SRK."

But an industry insider said just because Salman has complimented SRK's professionalism does not mean "they are best friends". "That cannot happen quickly as they have drifted apart. But never say never -- we have seen many professional rivalries wash away with time. As of now, let us wait and watch," he said.

SRK, Kajol back in Fashion

Bollywood’s golden couple that sets the screen on fire, a couple who brings smile on millions of people and raise their heart beats, and a couple who's always in fashion...king of khan’s Shah Rukh Khan and beauty queen Kajol.

The chemistry of the Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge couple is back and they personify the power of two. No other couple could have been more perfect for appearing on the second anniversary cover of Vogue magazine in India.

King Khan said it is a 'relief' that he was finally picked to be on the cover of Vogue. He told that, "I'm very excited I'm the Vogue cover. My wife was on the Vogue cover when it started off, and that's something everyone in the house teases me about that I have not made it to a cover that my wife did. So this is my claim to fame and optimistically now I'll be looked up in my house."

Despite the different camera, Kajol too had a good time, she said, "I expected it to be a lot tougher than it actually was, but everybody really convention together and made us look fashionable, so we didn't have to try too hard."

It definitely is a cast coup- in more ways than one, because however it is hard to believe this, neither of the two fit comfortably into their modeling shoes. They both insist that the differences between the still and moving camera are manifold and needless to say, in front of the movie camera, they are nothing short of perfect.

And a modest SRK said the reason he doesn't do too many cover shoots is simply because, "he's not good at it."

Both swear the differences between still and moving camera are manifold, so do they have a few fallback faces when faced with a lens they do not love?

Says SRK, "We are not the best people to be posing, we don't pout, we don't know how to smile, we don't know which side to look. We do silly things, we laugh, we joke, and we kept looking in the wrong direction."

And what makes them the hottest couple? Well they are hardly in the mood to deliberate on that. Kajol said, "We have done so many films together that have done well, and they happen to be love stories...I think it is great. I don't understand it myself so I can't explain it."

There are still many months left for the release of My Name is Khan, their comeback movie as a couple, and till then, this will have to do for the fans.
