"I am getting the hot pair back together." - Karan Johar

Shah Rukh and Kajol will face the camera together after a gap of seven years

Karan has managed to get Kajol on board for his next directorial venture, opposite none other than Shah Rukh Khan.

Shah Rukh and Kajol will face the camera together after a gap of seven years. Incidentally, they were last seen sharing screen space in Karan Johar’s Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.

Before leaving for New York, for location hunting, this morning, Karan confirmed the developments, “Yes. I am getting the hot pair back together. Kajol and Shah Rukh will be in my next film. It’s an emotional love story, written by Shibani Bhatija.”

Re-creating the magic

Karan had wanted to recreate the Kajol-SRK magic in Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna but she had turned down the part that finally went to Rani. On Koffee with Karan, Kajol made it public that Shah Rukh was upset with her for making her comeback with Aamir Khan in Fanaa, instead of doing a film with him.

SRK and Kajol’s past pairings
  • Baazigar (1993)
  • Karan Arjun (1995)
  • Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (1995)
  • Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998)
  • Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001)

Now, Paris too will have Shah Rukh waxed

The popularity Shah Rukh Khan enjoys in France came as a surprise to him as well.

Recently SRK was honoured with the prestigious French title, ‘Order of Arts et Lettres’, at a ceremony in Mumbai. Now, plans are afoot to have a wax statue of the superstar at the Grévin Museum in Paris.

Reportedly, SRK was recently approached by delegates from the museum with a request for a statue. Needless to say, the superstar happily gave his nod.

Artists from the museum have already taken the measurements for the statue. Reports have it that unlike SRK’s statue at Madame Tussauds, which is very formally dressed in a black suit, the wax replica at Grévin will have SRK in casual attire. Possibly, it might have the superstar flaunting his by-now-famous six-pack abs.

The statue will reportedly be unveiled in April this year. SRK will fly to Paris to do the honours.

So far the Grévin Museum has the statue of only one Indian – Mahatma Gandhi.

Over the last few years the museum has seen a steady rise in visitors from Asia. The museum apparently sought to attract more such visitors by keeping a wax replica of Asia’s most famous person – SRK.

"Shah Rukh and I are working together on a film." - Priyadarshan

Shah Rukh Khan will soon be seen playing himself on the big screen.

And while he may not enjoy the stupendous amount of screen time that he did in Om Shanti Om , King Khan ain’t complaining. It turns out he is playing a cameo, as himself in the flick. In a love story to be produced by his very own banner Red Chillies Entertainment and directed by the King of comedies, Priyadarshan, the project will also see these two talents collaborate for the first time.

Said Priyadarshan, “Yes, Shah Rukh and I are working together on a film. It will be a very different genre from what I’ve done in the past, or from what SRK has done in the past.”

Apparently, SRK is not going to take the centrestage in this one or so it seems as he will be appearing in the film, only around the interval.

Also, in a character we’ve never seen him before: Shah Rukh Khan playing Shah Rukh Khan. Priyadarshan has been given strict instructions by SRK not to divulge any details yet regarding the project.

However, on probing a little further, Priyadarshan said, “There will be more actors apart from SRK. Yes, he will appear in the film only by the interval. We are looking at many actors to portray the characters in the film but nothing has been finalised yet.”

The film is scheduled to complete by August 2008.

Shah Rukh Khan: The Return of the London King

“I don’t like America; I love London as I feel at home there,” Shah Rukh Khan gushed when I asked him why he visits the British capital so frequently. “People say English people are very cold and not friendly but I find them amazingly warm,” Khan added. His British fans will get a chance to meet the superstar yet again when he attends the Zee TV Carnival in London next week. Khan is excited about his return: “I love walking in London and meeting the people.”

“To me London is the hub of the world and anyone doing well there is a top notch achiever to me,” Khan stated. “I am not talking about Mr Mittal or Monty Panesar but about every Indian, Pakistani, and Sri Lankan who is there. I love the fact that another country like England has opened its arms and invited us with so much love.” Is he planning on moving to his beloved city? There are rumours that he has bought a house in the trendy Primrose Hill suburb. “We are not allowed to buy a house in London but I am planning to open an office there to start making films with English technicians,” Khan revealed.

The King Khan remains in the news. After dominating the big screen for over a decade, Khan has decided to further conquer the small screen. After hosting the Indian version of Who wants to be a Millionaire, he has just signed up to a new TV show. Khan will host the Indian version of the US reality show Are you smarter than a 5th grader, in which adult contestants will be grilled on subjects by bright kids.
