London: 'My Name is Khan', which brings together the 'hottest' on-screen couple Shahrukh Khan and Kajol after a gap of eight years, is set to hit theatres in India, UK and over 40 other countries on February 12, next year.

"My Name is Khan, at its core, is an epic love story between two people who have a unique way of seeing the world, but what sets it apart is the landscape on which the story unfolds," film's director Karan Johar said in a statement.

"I keep setting out to do something different with my films, but the one constant that remains is my desire to continue to explore the many ways in which two people can fall in love and stay in love regardless of any or every challenge against them," Johar added.

Shahrukh Khan finds difficult to make friends

Going by his on-screen image, you may think that Shahrukh Khan is affable and friendly. Surprisingly, Shahrukh is lonely and hardly has any friend.

Shahrukh admitted that his wife Gauri was right when she said that he didn't have time for friends. He added that it is difficult to make friends in the profession he is in, and that he hardly has any friend.

He do make friendsh with people he works with but busy life throws it haywire. He said that he makes new friends once he moves on to another film. He however added that he shares good relationship with all the people he workes with.

Well, Shahrukh needs to open up and start making friends!

Shah Rukh Khan takes it easy

For the first time Shah Rukh Khan will not be acting in his home production. His production house is planning a film titled Always Kabhi Kabhi that marks the directorial debut of industry veteran Roshan Abbas. The movie is a launch pad for four new faces including Zoa Morani the daughter of Karim Morani, a family SRK is very close to for years.

A source said, "Shah Rukh wants his role to be only that of a producer this time. This is a big exception because he has produced eight movies so far and in all of them he has either had the lead role or did cameos."

The insider added, "He will supervise the shooting, marketing and advertising plans and will also be creatively involved with the movie by going through the script and suggesting things that he feels would be beneficial for the project. Since the movie will star Zoa, he will make sure that she gets a big launch as the Moranis and he go back a long way. The Moranis are his friends and they manage his stage shows."

Shah Rukh's busy schedule is apparently limiting his involvement in the film. "Shah Rukh has My Name Is Khan and then Ra.1 up his sleeves. Ra.1 is also being produced by him; he is really tied up. So he is taking it easy as far as this movie is concerned. He just wants to oversee things than act in it. However, his presence even as a cameo would have made a world of difference but Shah Rukh is confident of the product and Roshan Abbas's film-making skills."

SRK-starrer ko Buyer Mil Gaya

King Khan's fans are in for a treat. They no longer have to wait for Karan Johar’s magnum opus, My Name Is Khan, to catch their star onscreen.

Viveck Vaswani’s long-awaited Dulha Mil Gaya (DMG) is complete and the film has found a buyer. “Everyone has a view on DMG but no one has seen it. I have bought into the equity of this film because I like it and I have got it at the right price (industry sources say approximately Rs 30 crore). I am sure

I will not have to wait 10 years to recover my investment. Having Shah Rukh Khan in the film is like the cherry on the cake,” says Rajat Jhunjhunwala, a finance professional with an investment and restructuring background with a passion for media. “It is a different mode of thought and I want to see if it will work,” says Jhunjhunwala, who has taken over the reins of Morpheus Media Ventures (MMV), a boutique media firm..

MMV is in a 50:50 partnership with Vaswani’s Insight Productions and has an equal share in the film’s IPR. Moreover, MMV will present the movie, which means the company has all rights to monetise the film across theatrical, satellite, digital, DTH and home video. For the young financier, the opportunity was irresistible. It was a chance to make a foray into Bollywood with a big film.

After doing regional fare for last two years, SRK’s 45 minutes was the much-needed booster. All that the film needed was “a small round of fund-raising from private equity firms” which was a cakewalk for Jhunjhunwala.

So what is the hullabaloo all about? “If you do a search on the net, you will find hundreds of stories on the film,” says Vaswani, who first announced the film in 2006. From stories of Brian Lara making a debut to Maverick Productions making an entry and now finally an exit from the film, to talks of SRK’s duration of role, Vaswani has seen a lot of ups and downs. “It’s a fresh, vibrant colour burst of a film.

Maverick is out of the film, SRK is there for close to 40 minutes in the second half of the film but because he has not taken money from me, I do not see this as a professional assignment. I see it as a personal favour and so I have billed his role as a guest appearance. But he is always a draw, he always delivers time and again,” he says.
