IPL 2010: Shahrukh Khan and KKR ready for Battle

These days Sharukh Khan is so much busy with his team Kolkata Knight Riders. As the battle will begin from 12th of March when his team so called will get in act with a match with previous season DLF IPL champion Deccan Chargers spearheaded by Ex-Australian wicket keeper Adam Gilchrist.

This time around SRK the King Khan got so much to listen from Bal Thackeray and his so called Shiv Sainiks. It grew controversial when Shahrukh gave a comment over not selecting any Pakistani Cricketer in IPL this season. He said that if it would the matter of space he had in team then he will surely got with Pakistani players like Abdurr Razzak or someone who is master in T20s but he had his spot picked with Shane Bond. He also added later that if it has been better relations with Pakistan then many Pakistani players may had been selected but our relations with Pakistan are not so good. So we are not on with Pakistani players.

This time around Shahrukh will cheer his team with Juhi chawla. Co founder of KKR; Last year Juhi didn’t give much as she was busy in her family matters but this year she is on with Bang. Last years three captain policies got failed and Kolkata Knight Riders got last position that time. With Mc Cullum as captain of team and later got Sourav Ganguly and Rickey Ponting involved in captainship too but they were of no cause as they three were not able to emphasize the performance more. Sourav Ganguly is only captain this year and Dave Whatmore is coach of the team with Wasim Akram as bowling assistant coach.

So lets hope what goes around and what is fate of SRK this time. Will his team improvises or just goes in dump again. We will see as DLF Indian Premier League is going to be on from 12th of March 2010.

REVEALED: SRK’s character in Ra.One

Shah Rukh Khan is super-excited about his next production Ra.One. Playing a superhero in the film, Khan has been planning for this movie for close to two years.

Director Anubhav Sinha has spent months after months trying to come up with “India’s first superhero”. Khan maintains that this film is for the kids all over the world and should, hopefully, go down well with them.

“My character is called Jeevan, and that character has what is called solid electricity. So, he can solidify electricity. It’s a concept we are trying to work on and, hopefully, visually, it will be understandable too,” says Khan.

Not ready to reveal too much at this stage, Khan tells us to expect the best in terms of visual effects, storyline and locales. “It’s a superhero film, and I’m going to fly! And for you, I am going to wear the underwear over the tights!,” he jokes.

The film stars Kareena Kapoor opposite Khan, as well as Arjun Rampal, who is rumoured to play the negative lead in the film.

Being produced by Khan’s Red Chillies, the actor seems to have pulled out all stops to ensure that the film generates a lot of interest and curiosity.

“I can’t give away much. We would like to phase in the explanation of the film because one of the problems we have with the film is the fact that it is of the superhero genre. Except for the wonderful Krrish and Drona, we haven’t really seen too many superhero films in india. So, we will phase out, and every month, we will talk about the film,” says the businessman in the actor.

And it’s not just the cast and SRK’s tights that are going to grab attention. SRK had American rapper Akon in Mumbai recently to record a track for the movie with his musicians Vishal and Shekhar. Ra.One goes on the floors soon and is expected to wrap up by August. It will be shot primarily in London.

Shah Rukh Khan's KKR team ties up with energy drink XXX

Shah Rukh Khan's IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has tied up with XXX energy drink as its principal sponsor.

XXX Energy Drink will feature its logo on the back of the team's new jersey. The press conference to announce the tie up was attended by the entire KKR team along with Khan.

The color of the jersey this time is purple and gold and has been manufactured by Reebok.

GT&T India vice chairman and the man behind XXX, Sachin Joshi said, "We are proud to announce that XXX and the Kolkata Knight Riders team have formed this association. It was in the fitness of things for us to come together as both entities stand for unbounded energy and the spirit of striving to succeed."

Khan added, "We are proud to partner with XXX as they truly understand the spirit and the energy required for a great sport like cricket. Also this drink epitomizes the spirit Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo, which powers Kolkata Knight Riders."

"Any sport is meant to be about winning and losing, we have slipped in the past but we will go on till we win it. We'll put our best foot forward. I don't like being defeated and I don’t think anybody does, the reason we play is to win," he said.
