Will Shahrukh and Salman make peace in Dubai?

In a remarkable coincidence, both Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan are in Dubai for the New Year celebrations.

Shahrukh has flown to the Emirates with his family and friends including Karan Johar, Hrithik Roshan and his wife Sussanne Roshan. Salman, on the other hand, is in Dubai with his family.

So what are the chances of SRK and Sallu meeting up and making peace?

“The chance is pretty bleak. But you never know. Remember, Hrithik bonded well with Salman at Sohail Khan’s birthday bash and he’s presently holidaying with SRK. May be he could initiate something to bring the two Khans together,” says a source from the industry.

Not to be ignored are the feelers that Shahrukh has been sending out to Salman lately, indirectly albeit.

On an upcoming episode of Koffee With Karan which has already been shot, Shahrukh went to the extent of admitting that it is his fault that Salman is not talking with him anymore.

“If Salman and Farah are upset with me it's 100 per cent my fault but I can't pick up the phone and say sorry.... I can't apologise because of ego but because I can't just get myself to ask people to come back to me,” Shahrukh is quoted to have said.

Moreover, SRK has been talking about making new beginnings in 2011. One of those could be a permanent burial of his rivalry with Salman.

How great that would be!

SRK, Hrithik in Dubai for New Year

Close friends Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan will ring in 2011 right here in Dubai with a starry celebration. SRK, of course, owns a luxurious home on The Palm and that's where the party is planned. Karan Johar will also be joining the Khans and Roshans for the bash.

The group also includes Chunky Pandey, Gauri's buddy Kajal Anand, and it seems Arjun Rampal and his family are also trying to make it to the UAE to join them.

And what did SRK have to say about the New Year? "To new beginnings. Have a healthy, happy & fulfilling new chapter. May all your troubles be as shortlived as your New Year resolutions. Love," the star posted on his Twitter page.

Meanwhile, before the New Years party begins, Hrithik will be busy teaching his kids Hridaan and Hrehaan snow-boarding at Ski Dubai, Mall of the Emirates. It seems the young Roshans had been wanting to learn snow-boarding for a while now, and their dad just had to give in to their wishes. Think SRK and Gauri's kids Aryan and Suhana will join them? Could be!

SRK gets emotional on 'Koffee With Karan'

Karan Johar's the coolest of cool TV hosts, but when his close friend Shah Rukh Khan gets emotional, so does KJo. We hear that Karan broke down after Shah Rukh showed off his vulnerable side and confessed on the 'Koffee With Karan' show that he didn't know how to make friends and keep them, and that he couldn't always tell people that he loved them.

It all started with Karan quizzing SRK about his tiffs with Salman Khan and Farah Khan. SRK said that if the two were upset with him, it was completely his own fault. He added that he couldn't just pick up the phone and say sorry because he couldn't ask people to come back to him, and not because of any ego issues.

Karan actually got teary when SRK admitted that he's not able to keep telling people that he loved them. He said that he felt he was understood when he said it once, and couldn't keep repeating it.

So will the episode that airs on January 2 lead to a truce between SRK and Salman as well as bring his friendship with Farah to the way it was? After all that soul-searching on SRK's part, we certainly hope so!

Shahrukh Khan as a baddie

Hot buzz is making rounds in the industry that Shahrukh Khan will play the bad guy in Hrithik Roshan starrer ‘Krrish 2’.

The two screen icons shared screens in ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham’ and Khan has good rapport with Rakesh Roshan for working in his films before. Both the families bond well in personal front and, sources said, it was but natural for Roshan Sr to etch a role in his son's flick for SRK as well.

Already Shahrukh is playing a grey shade in his forthcoming ‘Don 2’ and with ‘Krrish 2’ the star is completely stepping into villain’s character.

The sources also shared that Roshans have already informed Khan of about having him in their project while he has told them that he can be available only after the release of his production ‘Ra.One’.

However, Rakesh Roshan is maintaining that he is yet to finalise the cast for ‘Krrish 2’ and they are still working on its script. Let’s wait to see what happens next……

Shahrukh Khan wishes ‘Happy New Year’ on Twitter

He’s back after a two-month break

After keeping away from Twitter for about two months, Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan is back on the social networking site.

SRK had last tweeted on November 2, a day after his birthday, which he celebrated with his children and wife in Berlin.

On Wednesday, December 29, King Khan returned again with a sweet tweet about making new beginnings in the new year.

“To new beginnings. Have a healthy happy & fulfilling new chapter. Nay all your troubles be as shortlived as your new year resolutions. Love.” he tweeted.

Must say we missed his sense of humour all this while.

Shahrukh-Salman spat: SRK admits his fault, but won’t say sorry

Shahrukh Khan was in a mood to bare his heart while appearing on buddy Karan Johar’s chat show Koffee With Karan. SRK has been in confession mood lately. After confessing that he’s been depressed for a good part of this year, he’s spoken out frankly about his friends that have been falling out, namely Salman Khan and Farah Khan.

On Karan Johar’s show KWK, when SRK was asked about Farah and Salman, he is reported to have said: “I don't know how to make friends and if I do, I don't know how to keep them....If Salman and Farah are upset with me it's 100 per cent my fault but I can't pick up the phone and say sorry.... I can't apologise because of ego but because I can't just get myself to ask people to come back to me... I had asked my parents to come back and they didn't...”

In fact, SRK’s soul-baring so touched the host Karan Johar that he was moved to tears.

The SRK episode will be aired on January 2.

Russian President Dmitri Medvedev meets Shahrukh Khan

The likes of a Russian president and a world famous magician were spotted hobnobbing with the stars on the sets of RA.One

Lately the unit of Shah Rukh Khan's much awaited next RA.One seems to have a lot of high profile visitors

On Wednesday evening, the Russian President, Dmitri Medvedev, who is in town on a political visit, dropped by on the sets of the film. Medvedev wanted to meet SRK and Kareena Kapoor, the grand daughter of the legendary actor Raj Kapoor.

It may be recalled that the legendary actor Raj Kapoor is the most popular Bollywood actor in Russia till date. Shree 420 and Awaara were big hits in Russia and songs from the films can still be heard in restaurants in and around Moscow.

A reliable source reveals, "The president was very keen to meet Shah Rukh Khan. Since he is a huge fan of Raj Kapoor, he also expressed his desire to meet the two grandchildren of Raj Kapoor Kareena and Ranbir. He couldn't meet Ranbir since the actor is shooting in Delhi for Rockstar, but he did catch up with Kareena and SRK while they were shooting a song sequence at the Yash Raj studios. The President saw one shot, chatted with the stars and left."

A while ago the world's best magician, Franz Harary, who made the Taj Mahal disappear years ago, was in B town. Since he was in Bombay he was very keen to see a Bollywood film shoot.

The huge Shah Rukh Khan fan dropped on the sets of RA.One to meet the star. The director of the film, Anubhav Sinha remained tight lipped about the president's visit. However he talked about his interesting encounter with the magician.

Anubhav recollects, "I was taken in by surprise to have the world's best magician on our film sets. He is a huge Shah Rukh fan. He hung around on the sets for an hour and entertained the unit. It was great fun."

SRK and Kareena remained unavailable for comments.

Shahrukh Khan, the highest paid host ever?

Looks like Shah Rukh Khan is proving that he is the 'Badshah' even of Tellyland. TOI has learned that King Khan is apparently charging Rs 2.5 crore per episode for his forthcoming reality show Zor Ka Jhatka on TV.

Top industry sources claim that with this astronomical amount, SRK certainly becomes the costliest B-town A-lister to be signed on for a reality show. Whenever Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan have hosted TV shows, the industry debated whether they were the highest paid actors. However, this time it looks like the figures are on SRK's side. A source from the show reveals, "No one will speak openly about how much he is earning, but SRK charging Rs.2.5 crore certainly seems a believable figure.

As of now what can be revealed is that Shah Rukh is on for four weeks, Monday to Thursday, and if you calculate it, he is getting Rs 40 crore for 16 episodes. Bring on the superstar who can charge so much even after his last stint on TV (Kya Hum Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain) was panned and did not get the TRP that he got during Kaun Banega Crorepati."

Shahrukh Khan in Dubai for New Year’s Eve

As December 31 ticks closer, Bollywood stars are making plans for the New Year Eve. Shahrukh Khan won’t be in Mumbai this year.

Unlike last year when SRK celebrated the coming of 2010 in Mumbai, this year the superstar is headed to his swanky home at The Palm in Dubai. He, along with wife Gauri, kids and close friends will ring in 2011 together.

We hear that SRK will be joined by friends like Karan Johar, Hrithik Roshan, Sussanne Roshan and possibly Chunkey Pandey and his wife as well. Arjun Rampal, who’s a regular in the SRK camp, might not make it.

SRK and the gang will leave for Dubai on December 30.

Hrithik Wants SRK To Say NO SMOKING

After Aamir Khan, it’s Hrithik Roshan to join the list of perfectionism. Once he sets his mind on something, he strives hard to achieve it. Currently he has a new goal in his life. He wants Shahrukh to kick the butt and quit smoking completely.

Hrithik himself got addicted to this habit while doing the movie GUZAARISH. He smoked to give his character a realistic look. But he then promised to quit smoking on the last day of the shoot, thinking about its ill-effects on him and his family. He still has stuck to his promise. So now whenever someone offers him a stick, he crushes it and throws it away.

When asked how he managed to do this, he replied, "I started with the excuse of it being a part of the character two years ago with the idea that I'll stop after the film. I've always loved exploring with different experiences but a true adventurer needs courage and a will of iron. I love throwing challenges at myself and this was tough, but I've conquered it and grown stronger in the process. It's empowering."

Earlier Hrithik managed to persuade Arjun Rampal to quit smoking. So Arjun Rampal isn’t lighting up cigarettes anymore, courtesy Hrithik Roshan. Now he wants to achieve the impossible. He wants Shahrukh Khan to put off the cigarettes forever.

As everyone has seen, SRK is a chain-smoker. Since Hrithik has felt the change in his life after quitting the dangerous habit, he wants his friends to know the same. But it’s quite a difficult task, as Shahrukh is a compulsive smoker and smokes more than one packet a day. Hrithik still won’t give up. He is ready to offer all the company and support Shahrukh might need.

Hope Hrithik succeeds in his mission, so that Shahrukh won’t get any warnings from moral police for his smoking in public places.

Shahrukh Khan missing from Twitter – refuses to hit back

Shah Rukh Khan is known for being vocal and can think on his feet without flinching, but this time the tech-savvy actor has decided to stay away from Twitter. SRK has been quite an avid micro-blogger and people almost knew what he was about because of his tweets, but it has been over month that there has not been a single tweet from him.

The last tweet that can be seen on Shah Rukh’s account is dated Nov’ 2, in which SRK stated that he was celebrating his birthday with kids in Berlin while shooting for ‘Don 2’. While many speculates that the King Khan is keeping a low profile and staying out of micro-blogging to avoid questions being asked to him about Farah Khan and her next release ‘Tees Maar Khan’, it’s not so according to the sources.

A source revealed that the actor will talk about his MIA from Twitter in the upcoming episode of ‘Koffee with Karan’. SRK has withdrew from the blogging because there are people who give negative comments about him, his friends and family which are hurtful, though he can retort back but he just wants to stay away from the negativity. Also Shah Rukh is in such a frame of mind where he doesn’t want o part of the negative reaction as well as doesn’t believe in blocking people in the social networking sites.

To know what’s going on in SRK life and to watch an episode of ‘Kofee with Karan’ sans the controversy it would be worthwhile to see SRK’s episode which is said to be an emotional one, so watch out for it, as it will air on Jan’ 1, 2011.

Shahrukh Khan goes Golmaal: Is a comedy on cards?

Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan may soon sign a new film with director Rohit Shetty. If reports are to be believed then it would appear that SRK is keyed up to do a full-fledged comic caper and he is in discussions with Golmaal director Rohit Shetty for the same.

Shahrukh loved Golmaal 3 and approached director Rohit Shetty to direct some of his commercials for his production banner Red Chillies. Rohit and SRK have been gelling well these days and the Badshah Khan has professed his desire to do a film with Rohit.

Rohit has been requested to look for a good script. After doing a superhero flick in ‘Ra.One’ and a thriller in ‘Don 2’, Shahrukh is keen on doing a family comic flick. And apparently, Rohit has selected a 80s comedy film and is longing for its remake.

Rohit and SRK’s production house are, currently, seeking its remake rights after which the team shall sit down to pen the script and screenplay. But Rohit (who is a buddy of actor Ajay Devgn) didn’t want to antagonize him and met him on his sets to reveal his plans of making a film with Shahrukh.

Seemingly, Rohit didn’t want Ajay to hear the same from a third person as that may have created a rift between the two. Anyways, now that the King Khan has decided to do a comic caper, we can look forward to that in the coming future.

Shah Rukh Khan in the apologising mode during New Year’s Eve

Karan Johar’s ‘Koffee with Karan’ has become a hub of new brewing wars and formation of new camps. But here is an actor who is ready to make some amends with his “frenemies”. Its Karan’s best friend Shah Rukh Khan, he will be soon seen in the chat show and for the first time in the three seasons SRK will be alone with KJo.

The SRK episode will be aired on the New Year’s Eve and while talking with buddy Karan, Shah Rukh will take the responsibility of his two friends who’ve gone mad at him, Salman Khan and Farah Khan. Way back in 2008 Salman and SRK had a huge fight at Katrina Kaif’s birthday party and in 2010 Farah Khan went ahead and signed Akshay Kumar for her film ‘Tees Maar Khan’.

SRK in the hour long episode says that it must be his fault that Salman and Farah are no longer talking with him. It seems the King Khan of Bollywood is trying to mend his bridges with his once upon a time buddies and the guy is ready to forget the past and move on to a new friendly 2011.

SRK’s gesture surely shows that the man is honest and bold enough own up to any faults that he has made before and now it should be Salman and Farah’s turn to bury the hatchet and resume their friendship. If this episode does help in the bonding of the trio, it can prove that Karan’s show is not only about the fights like Kareena and Priyanka or Deepika ,Sonam and Karan versus Ranbir and his family.

I feel nice when I meet Shah Rukh: Madhuri Dixit

Bollywood star Madhuri Dixit left people mesmerised with her sensuous dance moves. The actress starred in many hit films with the three Khans - Shah Rukh, Salman and Aamir. She speaks to CNN-IBN Entertainment Editor Rajeev Masand about her co-stars and dances.

Rajeev Masand: Madhuri you did hit films with Shah Rukh, Salman, and Aamir. I know you get along with them nicely. Even today they are all friends. Even then who you are closest to?

Madhuri Dixit: See, even between Salman, Aamir and Shah Rukh, I worked more with Shah Rukh. I don't know, there is a kind of affection we have for each other, a kind of respect as actors, an affection because we worked on the sets. So it's always lovely to meet him.

Rajeev Masand: He dropped at the sets recently.

Madhuri Dixit: Yes! He did.

Rajeev Masand: What was that meeting like?

Madhuri Dixit: Wonderful! That's what I told Shah Rukh - 'Why do I feel happy when I meet you?' I just feel nice. He is someone you can talk to on different topics and is always well informed and so is Aamir. But maybe because I have worked more with him.

Rajeev Masand: Since there is a national debate going on this, I have to get your opinion on this. Which one is a better dance - 'Munni badnam hui' or 'Sheila ki jawani'?

Madhuri Dixit: It is very hard to say which one is better because I think both of them have their own charm. 'Sheila ki jawani' is more of a western combined with the Indian contemporary beat whereas Munni is absolutely folksy. It has a lot of folk in it. It is very, very Indian, I enjoy both of them. I love both of them. It is wonderful.

Rajeev Masand: Young girls and actresses really have continuously and till today danced to your hit songs. They try to emulate your dance steps. What's the last Hindi film song that you saw on TV or that you heard, that you danced to at home or made up your own steps?

Madhuri Dixit: The last song which I saw and I enjoyed watching was 'Munni badman hui'. I really enjoyed the beat, they very folk kind of ethnicity that the song has and I really enjoyed that.

SRK makes Madhuri blush

Last Wednesday Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit had a terrific reunion of sorts at Filmistan. The moment Khan saw her on the sets of a dance reality show, he walked up to her, hugged her tight and kissed her hand.

As Madhuri blushed and turned away, Mallaika Arora Khan, SRK's friend-turned-foe Salman Khan's sister-in-law, rushed to meet him too. Their 'intended' air-kiss however ended up looking rather odd.

It so happened that SRK was in Filmistan to shoot for RA.One. Notice his ear stud probably an accessory for the film? As he alighted from his car, he saw the name 'Madhuri Dixit' pasted on a vanity van.

He ran to the venue, where the dance diva was shooting. The cameras were in fact rolling when King Khan entered the sets and walked up to greet Madhuri, oblivious to the rest of the world, but then again, Dil toh pagal hai!

Shahrukh Khan signs ‘Two States’ adaptation

Chetan Bhagat’s another celebrated book is going to be made into a film. His recent novel Two States will be adapted for a romantic film to be directed by Vishal Bhardwaj with Shahrukh Khan in the main lead.

Yes, you are reading it right. SRK and Vishal together for the first time and guess who is producing it, SRK’s friend-turned-foe Salman Khan’s good buddy Sajid Nadiadwala. SRK has not been seen in a romantic film after Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and his female fans across the world were waiting for news like this.

To adapt Two States was always in the pipeline for Sajid Nadiadwala; earlier it was planned that the movie will have Priyanka Chopra and Saif Ali Khan and will be directed by Siddharth Anand. May be the producer was in two minds as Siddharth’s last release Anjaana Anjaani was a dud at the box office.

For those who haven’t read the novel: it is about a boy and a girl studying in an elite MBA college. The guy is from Punjab and falls in love with the girl who belongs to Tamil Nadu. Naturally, the two have problems getting married as they belong to two extreme different cultures. It’s Chetan’s own love story; his wife Anushka is a South Indian.

Sajid has bought the rights for its adaptation. SRK has heard the script and he has ‘loved’ it. Who will be cast opposite SRK? There will be a new girl.

SRK too features in WikiLeaks!

Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan and the threat by the Shiv Sena to ban screenings of his film My Name is Khan found mention in a US embassy cable that was leaked by WikiLeaks.

My Name is Khan is a 2010 movie made by Karan Johar in which Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol played the
lead roles.

"The Shiv Sena had threatened to ban screenings of Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming movie, My Name is Khan, because Shah Rukh Khan publicly lamented the absence of Pakistani cricket players in India's professional cricket league for the coming season," says the cable dated Feb 22, 2010.

The cable posted in the Guardian newspaper said that Shiv Sena goons burnt posters of the movie and protested in front of his home, asking Khan to "move to Pakistan".

"Khan himself did not bid on any Pakistani players as co-owner of one of the frachises," it said.

While some theatre owners refrained from screening the film on its opening day due to security concerns, "a show of force by the police convinced theatres to roll out a full release" the next day.

"With protests and controversy generating far more international buzz than the typical Bollywood movie, Khan's new movie opened to packed audiences in Mumbai and elsewhere," it added.

SRK highly impressed by Akon

Shah Rukh Khan is a self-confessed fan of Akon's music. Now that they have jammed together for a song in Ra.One the two have become so close that Akon has promised to give Shah Rukh some tips on "cool rapping" in exchange for Hindi lessons from Shah Rukh.

R& B singer Akon has sung in Hindi for a track in Shah Rukh Khan's Ra.One. Initially it was meant to be only a smattering of words in Hindi. Now there are passages of Hindi by Akon. The absence of an accent in his singing of the Hindi words in the track took Shah Rukh Khan so much by surprise that he decided to add some more Hindi words and lines into Akon's song in Ra.One.

Confirming this, composer Shekhar Ravjiani speaking on behalf of the duo Vishal-Shekhar who have composed the Akon track, says, "Akon's Hindi took all of us by surprise. It was almost like he had been speaking the language all his life. No one could believe Akon was seeing those Hindi lines for the first time. He just rattled of the lines as if he was conversant with Hindi. When you hear the song you will see no difference in the singing quality of Akon's English and Hindi lines."

Ra.One is expected to have 10 tracks. Vishal-Shekhar are in the process of creating the soundtrack.

Says Shekhar, "The director Anubhav Sinha has such a keen ear for music. He understands ragas, rhythm, melody and the format of music composition. Shah Rukh too is very clued to world music. We are creating the kind of global sound in Ra.One which has never been heard in Indian cinema before."

Bangladesh miffed with Shahrukh Khan

Just recently the King Khan of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan returned from his trip to Bangladesh and along with him his entire performance troupe consisting of Rani Mukherjee, Arjun Rampal and Eesha Koppikhar. Though every thing was hunky dory right through the schedule, it seems now matters have flared owing to certain hurt sentiments and ideologies.

It is learnt that the Bangladeshi public are pretty peeved with the Khan for a number of reasons as certain local newspapers from the neighbouring country claim, but most importantly being the grouses of SRK being treated like a VVIP, him smoking in public, lack of moral behaviour of the troupe and also insulting the Bangladeshis on home soil.

We break it down a bit, to analyze each point, the VVIP treatment that SRK and troupe received was apparently uncalled for as the organizers and nor the government have delegated a VVIP status to SRK.

While smoking in public is banned for the general masses in Bangladesh, the Khan was busy puffing away while cameras rolled and the audience watched on. As for the moral activity, the paper claims that the foreign dancers who accompanied the performance troupe indulged in certain amoral activity while at the hotel.

But by far the most infuriating of all was the apparent sidelining and insulting of the Bangladeshi public, as SRK continued to speak in Hindi and English, while he performed in the most of Bangladeshi liberation.

However it is surprising to note that though the entire show had approximately over 30000 people gathered the organisers were lethargic at admitting them to the auditorium, besides this another fact to think about is even though the Bangladeshi government has paid the stars to perform at the show, why not impose certain rules and regulations, if not then why complain post the event?

Apart from all these there are also complaints about the five hour show starting well behind schedule, and even questions being asked about the permission that was granted to remit an astronomical sum in terms of foreign currency to the celebrities. What ever be the case it certainly seems like our Bollywood stars will steer clear of zones like these.

Shahrukh in China

Karan Johar's My Name is Khan is the first Bollywood film to release in China in the last three decades.

And the only reason why this happened is because of Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan's immense popularity in that country. Everyone knows that despite the changing scenario in the home market, SRK continues to remain Bollywood's biggest export. His draw in countries like UK, Germany, parts of Europe, China and the entire Far East is still bigger than that of any other Bollywood actor.

MNIK also has successfully managed the deferred release experiment. Starting February 2010 to December 2010 this film has found markets for itself around the world, paving the way for others from Bollywood.

Teach my husband a few romantic lines, says Sania Mirza

Tennis star Sania Mirza insisted that Shah Rukh teach her shy husband Shoaib Malik some romantic lines at the recent Sahara sports award function.

"Shah Rukh's strength is the way he talks and he also romances in a very charming way in his films. So, I asked him to share some tips with Shoaib and teach him a few romantic lines so he would talk more. It was all done in good humour and Shah Rukh was pulling our leg all through the act," said Sania.

Shah Rukh also made Sania and Shoaib shake a leg with him at the function.

An eyewitness present at the awards function said that for the first time after their wedding, Sania and Shoaib were seen together at an awards function.

"Shah Rukh, known for his sense of humour, was anchoring the show with Sania. In an impromptu question and answer session, SRK asked Sania about their marriage, romance and kids," he said.

SRK also tried to get Sania and Shoaib's love story out of Shoaib's mouth but Shoaib refused to divulge any details.

"All Shoaib said was that theirs was an ideal example of 'love at first sight' where he proposed to Sania and she instantly agreed," said the eyewitness.

Sania said that Shoaib talks very little and believes that true love doesn't need any expression.

Shah Rukh called Shoaib on stage and asked him to repeat some romantic dialogues as Sania had insisted.

"I have known Shah Rukh from a long time. Both Shoaib and I watch his films. The three of us danced on a song from Veer Zaara," said Sania.

She said that the Sahara India Sports Awards was a whole new experience for her. "This is the first time I hosted a sports awards and it was great fun.

There was an act where I had to hit a tennis ball with a cricket bat in Shoaib's direction as he was sitting there.

A day before the show, during the rehearsals, the act wasn't coming out well and I thought that I might make a fool of myself at the show, but luckily, I managed to pull it off and everything went smoothly."

SRK gets a rare honor to sign Town Hall's guestbook

Its not rocket science that Bollywood Superstar Shahrukh Khan has many firsts and many 'rare honours' attached to him. He added yet another rare honour to his credit, when he recently visited the Rotes Rathaus; Berlin's Town Hall and met its gay mayor Klaus Wowereit. He did so during his visit to Germany, as he is shooting there for Farhan Akhtar's Don 2.

SRK also got a rare honour of signing the guest book at the Town Hall. By doing so, he became the first Indian actor to be given the honour. Way to go, Shahrukh!

Look who’s kissing Shahrukh Khan

It’s a picture that is doing the rounds of cyberspace, and being avidly discussed — but actor Shah Rukh Khan seems unperturbed by it.

The picture is a snapshot of Shah Rukh kissing British television personality and actor John Barrowman apparently on the sets while filming a TV show.

DNA mailed the picture to Shah Rukh’s staff members to check its authenticity and they replied saying that the picture is of an actual incident.

“There is nothing to hide about it. This particular scene was originally a part of My Name Is Khan. If you go to the deleted scenes section in the DVD, you will find the shots there,” says a source.

SRK’s staff members also confirmed the claim. According to sources, director Karan Johar originally had thought that he would include this in the film in the overseas version but later decided against it.

Though the smooch is doing the rounds of a few Indian sites titled Superstar Ka Gay Kiss and on a lot of video sharing sites, no attempt has been made so far to remove the scene from the net. It is increasingly getting popular as more and more sites are picking it up.

“There is nothing to hide as the smooch was done in jest and there was a context to it because it was a hilarious situation.

Seeing the kiss as a separate entity from the situation will be wrong. Everybody, right from Shah Rukh to Karan, thought that it is a hilarious situation. But later those shots were edited out of the film. We should see it progressively, in context of the programme and also keeping in mind the sensibilities of that country,” the source adds.

Malaysia Truly Asia´s Langkawi & Genting Miss SRK´s ´Don 2´

'Don: The Chase Begins Again', directed by Farhan Akhtar and starring Shah Rukh Khan was extensively shot in Malaysia, popularly known as Truly Asia!

In fact, eighty percent of the movie was shot in Malaysia, and was filmed around the tropical Langkawi island as well as the Petronas Twin Towers and the Jalan Masjid India area, which is the 'little India' of Kuala Lumpur. Not only that the well known Genting Highlands too featured in the proceeding.

It was expected that the sequel to the film, 'Don 2' would also feature the South East Asian country. But as things stand today, 'Don 2' is being extensively shot in Berlin and from there it will move to other locales of Europe.

The people of Malaysia, who also conferred an honorary doctorate on King Khan in 2008 (and he became Datuk Shahrukh Khan), are hoping that the unit comes to Malaysia once again, may be just for a few shots.

Well, are Farhan and Shah Rukh Khan listening?

Shahrukh's Ra.One is cynosure of all eyes

Ra.One seems to be the most awaited film. Going by the discussions on the film, even though Shahrukh Khan is yet to release the first look of his home-production, it is evident that viewers across the globe are awaiting this SRK film for more reasons than one. The discussions across message boards/forums pertain to varied topics, right from the special effects to SRK's look in the film to the release date of this keenly-anticipated movie.

Initially slated for release in June 2011, it is speculated that the film will now release in the second half of 2011, although the producers are yet to finalize a date. That's because the VFX will take time to achieve the desired results. In fact, Anubhav's tweet says it all: "The VFx team and I are still figuring when we can deliver the film. Then my friends, The Producer will announce the date. But soon now..."

The question is, with Don 2 slated for release in December 2011, will Ra.One arrive a few months earlier or a few months later? After all, there has to be a sufficient gap between two biggies starring the same actor. Even the launch of the promos should be planned accordingly, so that they don't overlap each other.

With Rajinikant's Robot setting the standards, one expects Ra.One to go a step forward vis-à-vis the special effects and woo the audiences across the globe. And knowing SRK and his penchant for perfection, one is more than sure that Ra.One will turn out to be a visual delight, at par with the Hollywood counterparts.

Hrithik Roshan's 'Guzaarish' touched Shahrukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan was reportedly so moved by Hrithik's performance as a paraplegic in the film Guzaarish, that he awoke his younger colleague out of slumber and made him drive down to his bungalow Mannat.

Though tired and fighting off a viral attack, Hrithik still drove down to Mannat where he and King Khan apparently discussed Guzaarish and Hrithik's performance until 2 am.

That is something you can do if you are SRK. "Shah Rukh had asked for a print of Guzaarish because he's very fond of Hrithik. Also, because Shah Rukh had played a mentally challenged character in the Karan Johar film, My Name Is Khan, he was curious to see how Hrithik had approached the character of a physically disabled hero," said a source.

SRK was watching the film with his family and friends and it was halfway through that he rang up Hrithik, asking him to come to his house immediately.

The two are close friends now and their wives are apparently even closer. Gone are the days when SRK wouldn't even want to hear Hrithik's name being uttered in his presence.

Shahrukh finally patches up with Bhansali

It seems Bollywood biggies Shahrukh Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali have finally patched up after keeping away from each other for about two years. Shahrukh broke the ice by calling up the filmmaker.

The news is doing the rounds that King Khan called up Bhansali while he was at a private screening of Guzaarish at Yash Raj Studios, and the duo spoke for about 20 minutes. The actor, who has already watched Guzaarish, reported told the filmmaker that Devdas (by Bhansali) was his best film so far. And sources said that Bhansali looked happy after the conversation.

It may be recalled that Shahrukh and Bhansali severed their relationship when their films Om Shanti Om and Saawarya were released on the same day two years ago. They even took a few digs at each other then. But it's passe now, as they have patched up over Guzaarish!

King Khan and Sachin Tendulkar dance hand in hand

Recently held Sahara India Sports Awards were hosted by Shahrukh Khan, who made the impossible possible by making Sachin Tendulkar dance.

During the event Shahrukh Khan called Viru on the stage for performance and Viru has challenged King Khan to bring Sachin Tendulkar on the stage and made him dance.

Shahrukh took the challenge and very gracefully called Sachin on the stage and made him to move his belly.

Sachin is a reserved person and is not fond of partying or dancing but King Khan is fortunate that the world's number one cricketer manages to dance with him.

At last, King Khan also ends up his fight with Sunil Gavaskar by giving his sincere apologies to Gavaskar. When Gavaskar was called on the stage to receive an award, Shahrukh did not left the opportunity to end up the war between them, he politely said that he respect Sunil Gavaskar for all his achievements and the glory which he had brought for the country. Sharukh blamed media for the misunderstanding and Gavaskar gracefully accepted the apology.

Whole country will cheer while watching Sahara India Sports Awards 2010 on television, which witnessed a blend of entertainment between sport persons and Bollywood stars.

Shahrukh Khan bored of Twitter?

After posting regular updates on Twitter, Shahrukh Khan seems to have suddenly lost all interest in the social networking site.

The superstar last posted his birthday pic on November 3 from Berlin where he was shooting Farhan Akhtar’s film Don 2. When SRK did not tweet for a whole week after that, it was obvious to presume that he was busy with the film’s shoot.

But now that the star is back in Mumbai and has had a few days to rest and relax as well, he did not post any new message on his Twitter page! Is he losing interest, just like Aamir Khan who posted his last tweet in August? Or is SRK just taking a sabbatical from social networking on the net.

More than seven lakh followers could be disappointed if SRK decides to quit Twitter at this point.

SharRukh Khan's OK! as India's sexiest dad

Shahrukh Khan
Well, SRK says ok to OK! On being voted as India's Sexiest Dad, who are we to argue. If we had our way, then, we would have only elevated it a step further and would have 'crowned' SRK as World's Sexiest Dad.

First things first, all the pictures in this mag are nothing short of a sheer visual treat! In this issue of OK magazine, SRK goes onto confess, "I would love to have more children." Talking about children, SRK with paternal pride says "My son has learnt how to edit and my daughter loves to act, so I try to make films all the time." And when asked as to who's a stricter parent between him and Gauri, he says "Gauri is. I think I am strict too, but Gauri thinks that I am very lenient."

SRK's character to have grey shades in 'Dhoom' threequel?

Scuttlebutt has it that Bollywood biggie, Shahrukh Khan
will be seen portraying the role of villain in the third installment of action thriller based film, 'Dhoom'.

Though nothing has been officially confirmed, inside story reveals that SRK has allotted dates for the shoot. The shooting of the 'Dhoom' saga will kick off in March, next year.

SRK is suspected to enact the bad guy, while Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra will be portraying their usual roles in the third installment. But the leading ladies are yet to be known.

What has come as a surprise is Aditya Chopra will be directing the third installment as Sanjay Gadhvi, who had directed the earlier two prequels, has quit the film.

Though a deal of three films was signed with him, due to few unknown reasons he left.

An insider familiar with the matter revealed, “Dhoom 3 has been in the news for the longest period. While there have been all kinds of speculations about who will direct the film, one thing was always clear that Vijay Krishna Acharya (of Tashan), better known as Victor Acharya, is writing the script.

“Aditya Chopra has now decided that he will don the director’s cap. While Shah Rukh Khan in all probability will be playing the role of a villain, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra will play their regular roles.”

Interestingly, Aditya has directed films like 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' (1995), 'Mohabbatein' (2000), and 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' (2008).

Indeed, 'Dhoom' threequel has been in news since long and now, we are eagerly for some confirmations. What say?

SBKHT: A tribute to King Khan

SRK fans have been feeling deprived of late. So a title Shahrukh Bola Khoobsurat Hai Tu, might just take them scurrying to the theatres. But a small note of caution. The film has only a miniscule guest appearance by Shah Rukh Khan.

SBKHT is all about how the superstar's persona has invaded millions of lives across the globe cutting through all sections of society.

Laali (Preetika Chawla) is a flower seller who has a chance encounter with her demi-god SRK at a signal one day. This innocuous event becomes the turning point of Laali's life as she escapes into a dream world. But Laali isn't a middle class girl who can spend all her time fantasising about her favourite hero. She's a part of a larger community where no thoughts or emotions can be concealed for long. Her pointless infatuation sets off a chain of events with bizarre consequences.

John (Afzal Khan) a book seller at the same signal is madly in love with Laali and goes ballistic when her obsession shows no sign of diminishing. Even as he is all set to destroy himself, Champa the vamp with a heart of gold appears to rescue John and save him from disaster.

Veteran theatre director Makarand Deshpande's debut film SBKHT is a satire about Bollywood invading our lives and deciding the course of our actions whether we are aware of it or not. John visualises himself as a Devdas and Champa sees herself a modern day Chandramukhi. But this soap opera isn't being played out in a crumbling haveli of Bengal, it's happening in a little hutment community adjacent to the traffic signal.

The opening sequence makes you balk but the film manages to keep you engrossed because it's difficult to predict how the characters will react. The pressures of life are rigorous and violence continuously simmers below the surface. Whether it is the arrogant police inspector or the carom king 'Wanted', just about everybody is ready to start a brawl. And yet in a moment of crisis people are not alone. Unlike a middle-class society, where people tend to turn up the volume on their stereos when a storm brews in the adjacent flat!

The film has been shot partly on location and the feel is authentic. Newspaper-lined walls, dimly lit nursing homes, cramped police stations successfully create the right ethos. A wash room is just a tiny space demarcated by a curtain. Rubble and garbage are consistent backdrops in many scenes.

Makrand Deshpande plays Salim the local don who has eyes at the back of his head and despite his puny frame beats up several goons single-handedly. Obviously Makarand's tribute to his mentor Shah Rukh!

The obvious flaw in the film is the supporting cast. Salim, 'Wanted' the crime reporter and his German girlfriend Stefie, are all prototypes and mouth corny dialogues. Spoofing masala movies is fine but when it happens repetitively it becomes a shade tedious. And the pace drags the film down especially in the second half.

Preetika Chawla (an accidental discovery by the director) plays the role of Laali to perfection. She wanders around in a hazy dream-like state with a perpetual smile hovering around her lips. Dialogue delivery is bit raw but she has loads of potential.

The narrative stays focused and doesn't try to incorporate any sub-plots. A common mistake by debut directors which thankfully Makarand Deshapnde has manged to avoid. Good cinematography without gimmickry or dull gloomy mood lighting.

This film isn't really for SRK fans. There is no gloss or candy floss involved.

But it's an interesting watch for those who enjoy slice-of-life films. And for those who believe DDLJ to be a cult film.

Daniel Radcliffe: Harry Potter’s take on Shahrukh Khan

Deathly Hallows actor Daniel Radcliffe (co-star of Emma Watson and Rupert Grint) has been donning the wizardry robes for nearly 10 years playing the central character of Harry Potter in the Warner Bros. fantasy franchisee.

Daniel has a humongous fan following in India and the wizard knows a thing or two about Bollywood. Admitting his love for Bollywood films, Radcliffe cites that he loves the song sequences coz they make the film a lot more engrossing and entertaining.

Yes! He has watched a few Bolly flicks. However, he doesn’t quite remember the difficult names, them being in Hindi with which he is not quite acquainted.

But when quizzed if he liked any actor, he was quick to name the Bollywood King Shahrukh Khan
. Radcliffe cites that SRK is big in Britain and has a tsunami-like fan following. Admitting his fondness for him, Dan hails him as the epitome of style and class.

Daniel (aka Harry) also professes his nostalgia now that the curtains have fallen on the Harry Potter films. For over a decade, he has lived the life of a wizard but now he has to move on. Deathly Hallows Part I hits theatres on 19th November and the concluding part shall release on July 15th the following year. Are you prepared for the end?

Shahrukh Khan, the Bollywood badshah is a constant member of the famous networking site Twitter and contributes the gems of his minds on a daily basis. However, recent time has shown that he has been away from his favourite site for quite a number of days.

The top actor's Shahrukh Khans fans and followers in Twitter are wondering about the latest

King Shahrukh Khan & Queen Madhuri Dixit Arrived in India

After a prolonged shooting stretch in Germany, SRK returned India on Eid eve.

His homecoming on Eid is the biggest gift he could have given his fans. The shutterbugs had already lined up at the airport terminal to capture the return of King Khan on their lens and expectedly there was hysterical commotion on his entry. So much was the madness outside the airport that one photographer was literally swept off his feet. The gentleman that Shah Rukh is, he helped the photographer get back on his feet.

Incidentally actress Madhuri Dixit arrived in India around the same time. Shah Rukh Khan has always been a huge admirer of Madhuri Dixit. The two stars just missed each other by few minutes. Hopefully the two can catch up sometime soon with Madhuri being in India for some time for her new assignments.

Shah Rukh Khan has been shooting nonstop for his upcoming film Don 2 – The Chase Continues in Berlin. In fact he celebrated his birthday as well as Diwali out of country. It's always great to have him back.

Shahrukh the first James Bond of India

Action is the mantra for Shahrukh Khan, this season. The Bollywood actor seems to be in love with the genre at present. Though the audience is more used to watching the King Khan in romantic roles, SRK is all set to set screens on fire with action in his upcoming releases Don 2 and Ra.One. One look at the actor’s newly acquired lean structure is enough to confirm the fact that he has been sweating it out to become the first James Bond of India.

First of the two action films featuring Shahrukh Khan in the lead is Farhan Akhtar’s Don 2. While the director had already improved on the older version of Don, he plans to make the sequel even more stylish and action-packed. And it is for this reason that Farhan Akhtar is taking a leaf out of the books of Hollywood action hero James Bond. The crew of the film is presently shooting in the German capital Berlin and it has been reported that while a body double will be used for the extreme sequences, SRK himself will perform some of the stunts shown in the film. In fact the actor has also had an accident while performing the acts in Berlin.

Following the Don 2 act is Ra.One, for which Shahrukh Khan will have to perform more stunts considering that he will play a superhero in the movie. Ra.One is being touted as one of the most ambitious projects undertaken by the actor in his flourishing career. Action or no action, we love Shahrukh and will be waiting for his films to hit theaters.

Shah Rukh Khan’s kids are my God-children: Karan Johar

“I am everything that a child can be. At 38, I am still as dependant on my mother as I used to be when I was a child. I am a messy eater and I have bad eating habits. I have a poor sense of time management and need constant mothering,” are some of the candid confessions from Karan Johar, one of the leading filmmakers in the country. “On Children’s Day, everyone must celebrate the child in them,” he adds.

Single and eligible, the filmmaker reveals he does not miss having kids of his own. And the reason? “Shah Rukh’s kids (Suhana and Aryan) are my God-children. They are a Godsend and I dote on them completely! I regard them as my own children. Besides, I’m also fond of my cousins’ daughters. So, there, I have so many children!” he adds.

Currently, his show Koffee with Karan is the much-talked-about show on air. On being asked what makes the biggest of stars confess their secrets to him on national television, Karan attributes this to the comfort factor.

“It’s all about lounging around and having a good time with your close pals. The cameras are just incidental. So, there’s no strategy, no script and no agenda. It’s all about some conversations over coffee. So, you should not expect some over-the-top philosophy... I’m just having a fun time with my friends and I’m inviting everybody to be a part of it,” Karan says.

Karan informs that My Name Is Khan is getting released in China on November 30 this year. “I am proud to say that My Name is Khan has become India’s first true global film. It has got a tremendous response at the Berlin Film Festival and the foreign box office collections of the film are stupendous. It is now getting released in China after France and Germany. I must also thank Fox Pictures for giving me such great support,” he adds.

SRK not my pal: Makrand

Makrand Deshpande, the "Makdee" guy, has come to be better known as Shah Rukh Khan's friend in recent times, thanks to his directorial venture "Shahrukh Bola Khoobsurat Hai Tu", which revolves around Shah Rukh complementing a girl for his looks and how that affects her life.

Shah Rukh also makes a special appearance in the film. But Makrand dispels all misconceptions about his relationship with the superstar. "Shahrukh is not my friend; it is he who calls me his friend," he clarifies and goes on to elaborate, "SRK and I have known each other before we worked together in " Circus" but I have never called him my friend. Bollywood is mostly about professional contacts." So what about news that the SRK had had a falling out with his friends in Bollywood? "When people have worked with Shah Rukh for years, they start considering him their friend. But a man like him, I doubt, has time to either keep his friends happy or fight with them. And these rifts come when he can't do favours for his friends," replies the filmmaker.

But according to Makrand, Shah Rukh was not irreplaceable for his film, though he was the first choice. "I don't think any other Khan in the industry can have the same impact as SRK has on others. There is a clear difference between his aura and others'," he says. But if not Shah Rukh, the film then would have been based on Mr Perfectionist in Bollywood. "Though it would not impact a girl much if Aamir told her ki tu khoobsurat hai, yet he would be my second choice for the movie since he is a very good teacher and even in real life people listen to him," he reasons.

But his upcoming film aside, Makrand has also been playing cameos in films and serials. However, his cameo in "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi" extended into a rather long one. "TV doesn't interest me much, and I made an appearance on "Kyunki..." only because of the continuous persistence of Ekta Kapoor. She told me that it was like a cameo and I only had to shoot for eights days. But unfortunately, as I would call it, the character picked up so well that I was told I can't leave the show just like that and had to shoot for several months before I could call it quits. I became the hot topic of discussion among women at kitty parties," laughs Makrand, who will now be playing another cameo in the serial "Bhagowali".

And Makrand believes that it is his signature style – the overgrown hair and the salt-and-pepper beard – that fetches him roles. So want as much as he may, to change his look, he can't. "In our industry the acting prowess of an actor is hardly put under consideration; it is basically his looks and his popularity that is kept in mind while handing out roles. This weird look of mine has been quite popular. People like to see me like this and so writers write roles keeping my look in mind. My next films "My Friend Pinto" and "Guzaarish" with Sanjay Leela Bhansali have me in almost the same look," he shares, adding, "I am excited about the latter because I've worked with my favourite lady in Bollywood, Aishwarya in the film. And thanks to Hrithik who suggested my name for the small role that I have in the movie," he smiles.

Shahrukh Khan: Interesting Tale of the Taxi Ride

Don 2 actor Shahrukh Khan has got a fan following that can be traced to every part of the globe and Berlin, certainly, is no different. In fact, every night when SRK returns to his hotel he finds a plethora of fans waiting outside for the King.

And SRK humbly acknowledges their presence and signs autographs for them. At times, he even sends out some refreshments for those waiting for hours. SRK is big in Germany and one interesting story revolves around a taxi ride.

After the day’s shooting wrapped up for Don 2, SRK and the crew indulged in some football-playing in a nearby ground. It went on till the wee hours of the morning after which SRK decided to have some coffee. Instead of opting for the car, he decided to hail a cab.

However, the cab driver was quick to spot his passenger and refused to accept payment from him. Even though Shahrukh insisted, the driver only asked for his pic since his daughter was a die-hard fan of the Indian actor.

SRK obliged and the driver’s daughter must be a happy child by now. Interestingly, actor Orlando Bloom, who was stationed at the same hotel, got pissed off by the surge of paparazzi thinking they had queued up for him. However, he was taken aback when he was told that the mob had assembled for Shahrukh Khan and not for him. After all, ‘11 mulkon ki police Don ko dhoondh rahi hai’.

Shahrukh Khan: Special Agent or spy in Don 2?

Shahrukh Khan the star who is well known as Baadshah or King of Bollywood is certainly akin to doing a role certifying to that designation after all, he did portray the role of a spy in the movie Baadshah which was quite well appreciated by the audiences. So what is he going to be in the forth coming film Don 2 ,a special agent or spy?

However after playing a gang leader in the Farhan Akhtar film Don, this star is reportedly going to play a totally different character in the sequel Don 2.

Coming to think of it, the title suggests Don 2 and his character is touted to be quite different from Don and it is going to be a positive character, so the question that comes to mind is that is SRK going to play the role of a special Agent or a special spy in Don 2?

That would also mean that SRK was going to be an agent working for a reputed institution like the government. This could also mean that he could be working to give service to society and mankind as he works as a secret agent- whoosh! All this only seemingly adds up to the fact that Shahrukh Khan just might be stepping into the shoes of a 007 James Bond like character!

Wow! If this is true then Shahrukh’s fans are going to have a great time watching their favorite star cracking on the hideouts of scrupulous people and getting them to the law enforcement team.

Besides all this the movie is going to be a sleek, stylish and highly sophisticated amalgamation of action comedy and wit. So wait all you SRK fans your favorite star is about to surprise you in the coming year!

Shahrukh Khan is a powerful brand

The saleability of stars has always benefitted filmmakers. After all, that is the reason why stars come with such a huge price tag. However, an actor like Shah Rukh Khan is a class apart. Even movies that just feature his name in the title can draw a lot of attention irrespective of whether he is playing a significant role in it.

Recently Makrand Deshpande, who is promoting his upcoming film ‘Shahrukh Bola Khoobsurat Hai Tu’, came to witness the hype and hoopla that surrounds SRK. He says, “ I had booked a mall for the shooting of the movie. But when the mall authorities found out about the name of the movie, they hiked the price. I was surprised to see the impact of Shah Rukh’s name on my movie,” says Makrand. He further adds, “ From that day I realised the power of brand name.

Shah Rukh’s name itself is a powerful brand.” However, speaking about his brand choice, the director says, “ I don’t believe in flaunting brands. I lead a simple life I take or do whatever I like. I don’t go for branded stuff.” It remains to be seen how much impact the movie has on the box office though.
