SRK's character to have grey shades in 'Dhoom' threequel?

Scuttlebutt has it that Bollywood biggie, Shahrukh Khan
will be seen portraying the role of villain in the third installment of action thriller based film, 'Dhoom'.

Though nothing has been officially confirmed, inside story reveals that SRK has allotted dates for the shoot. The shooting of the 'Dhoom' saga will kick off in March, next year.

SRK is suspected to enact the bad guy, while Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra will be portraying their usual roles in the third installment. But the leading ladies are yet to be known.

What has come as a surprise is Aditya Chopra will be directing the third installment as Sanjay Gadhvi, who had directed the earlier two prequels, has quit the film.

Though a deal of three films was signed with him, due to few unknown reasons he left.

An insider familiar with the matter revealed, “Dhoom 3 has been in the news for the longest period. While there have been all kinds of speculations about who will direct the film, one thing was always clear that Vijay Krishna Acharya (of Tashan), better known as Victor Acharya, is writing the script.

“Aditya Chopra has now decided that he will don the director’s cap. While Shah Rukh Khan in all probability will be playing the role of a villain, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra will play their regular roles.”

Interestingly, Aditya has directed films like 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' (1995), 'Mohabbatein' (2000), and 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' (2008).

Indeed, 'Dhoom' threequel has been in news since long and now, we are eagerly for some confirmations. What say?

Shah Rukh Khan in Aditya Chopra's DHOOM 3

Shah Rukh Khan, the favorite superstar of Yashraj Films and its head honcho Aditya Chopra, has given his consent to feature in upcoming mega- budget flick ‘Dhoom 3’ to be directed by none other than Aditya himself.

Hrithik Roshan, who had taken the ‘Dhoom 2’ to another level with Aishwarya Rai under the able direction of Sanjay Gadhvi, is said to be studying the minute details of his characterization in the upcoming flick before giving his consent. The buzz doing the rounds in the industry is that after Shah Rukh Khan gave his consent, it’s only a matter of time before Hrithik Roshan gives his nod for the flick.

Whenever it comes, Aditya Chopra directing the flick will be confirmed, as the reclusive director is said to have put forth the condition that he will helm the multi- crore project only if his chosen superstars agree to enact the roles he has in mind for them in the flick.

Sources close to Yashraj say that Shah Rukh Khan has always been favorite of Aditya Chopra and his all movies had him playing the pivotal roles in them. Starting with ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’ to ‘Mohabbatein’ and ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’, Shah Rukh Khan has been a constant factor in Aditya’s directorial ventures.

However, this time Shah Rukh Khan’s character is going to be negative, unlike in other Aditya Chopra’s flicks, wherein he played the main do-gooder hero and finally went home with the heroine. It was due to this factor that there was an air of suspense about his accepting the offer. However, Aditya’s friendship with Shah Rukh proved too strong a bond for him to refuse this role.

'Shah Rukh Khan not acting in Dhoom 3'

The grapevine has been abuzz with news that Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan will play the villain in Yash Raj Films' (YRF) action-adventure series “Dhoom 3” but a source from the production company has denied any such development.

"This story is completely untrue and baseless. We have no idea where this rubbish originated but like all wildfires has spread rapidly,” Rafiq Gangjee, vice president (marketing and communications) of YRF, told IANS over e-mail from Mumbai.

The rumours that Shah Rukh would soon follow in the footsteps of Hrithik Roshan by playing a villain opposite actor Abhishek Bachchan in the “Dhoom” series began when British news website femalefirst.co.uk first reported it.

According to the article which was published May 26, a source was quoted as saying: "Shah Rukh had been approached by the banner to play the main villain in the most successful franchise of Bollywood - the 'Dhoom' series - and he has immediately given the nod. Last few days there has been a lot of buzz that Saif Ali Khan has signed the dotted line for the same role but it seems they were just plain rumours.”

However, as per Gangjee, there is no truth in any part of the report.

Shahrukh Khan in talks to play an anti-hero in Dhoom 3

After the super-success of the villain (John Abraham in Dhoom, and Hrithik Roshan in Dhoom 2), the part of the anti- hero has become the most coveted role in B-Town.

Every now and then, big names are being tossed around as being nearly signed for this role and now the latest rumour is that Shah Rukh Khan will feature in the role in this action thriller.

A source who claims to be in the know swears, "Yash Raj Films have been going through a lull period as none of their on-the-floor movies or their completed ones are generating any curiosity from the buyers as well as the audiences. SRK has always been a quick-fix solution for the Chopras.

When- ever their mega boat is rocked, good friend Adi Chopra calls on SRK and the actor steps in to bail out his dost." This last happened with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.

Now an insider claims claim that SRK has been approached by the banner to play the main villain in Dhoom 3, "Last week, SRK was called in for a tentative one-line narration; he was impressed and agreed to be part of the film."

Although one wonders when SRK will find the time to finish this film, which reportedly starts some time next year. SRK is very charged about his superhero flick and Don 2, which he wants to finish in 2010, along with his home production Happy New Year, to be directed by Farah Khan, so where is the time to fit in Dhoom 3? It is also not clear who will direct D:3 as Sanjay Gadhvi has had a fallout with YRF."
