Playing the guitar isn’t easy. Shahrukh Khan tried his hand at the six-string in the past and realized soon that he was an “awful guitar player”.

The star is presently holidaying with his wife and kids in Spain where he had played the guitar long time back in an open square.

“Had once gone to Spain, bought myself a guitar & played it in the square. I am an awful guitar player but people stopped & gave me a listen,” SRK tweeted while recalling his earlier visit to the country.

After that one stint with the guitar, SRK never played the instrument again.

“I am smart enough to realise just because people listened does not mean you can take their kindness and give them pain. Never played the guitar again,” SRK posted.

Besides holidaying, SRK is also busy filming for his home production Ra.One

Bollywood Superstar Vs Hollywood Superstar

First up, for those of you who don’t know, here’s a little introduction to the world of Bollywood.

Formally referred to as Hindi cinema, Bollywood is the largest film producer in India and one of the largest centres for film production in the world. For a long time Bollywood was more financially viable than it’s western ‘H’ namesake.

With multi million pound productions with glorious cinematic colour and sweeping soundtracks, Bollywood films now traverse the globe and have a huge and devoted worldwide fan base.

A great emphasis is always placed on shooting and choreography for the course of Bollywood’s standpatter three hour epics full of melodrama and adventure. Increasing accessibility to professional special effects in recent years has resulted in more ventures into the action and sci fi genres and Bollywood is now a direct competitor to Hollywood’s dominance on the world stage rather than, as previously referred to, ‘a poor cousin’.

My Name is Khan is the second most expensive Bollywood film to date after Fox Star Entertainment bought the rights for the sum of INR 1 billion.

Starring Shahrukh Khan and Kajol, it is released here on DVD on Monday, June 28. Here’s a quick rundown of its leading man and a comparison to his Hollywood counterpart Brad Pitt.

Bollywood versus Hollywood…who would win in a fight? Go!

Shahrukh Khan
With nicknames including ‘King Khan’ and ‘The King of Romance’ Khan is the most sought-after actor in Bollywood.

Born on November 2 1965, he’s a fair whack shorter than Brad at 5ft 8in. A follower of Islam, he’s been married to Gauri Khan since 1991 and has two children, Aryan and Suhana. Khan and his family have three dogs now after his beloved dog Chewbacca died.

Khan has won 13 Filmfare awards. Seven of which were for Best Actor. In 2005, the Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri for his contributions to Indian Cinema. His IMDB profile states he has 26 wins out of 27 nominations.

Brad Pitt
William Bradley Pitt is the epitome of the Hollywood pin-up and shot to stardom after his early role in Thelma and Louise.

Born on December 18 1963, Pitt is a little shorter than your usual six-foot-plus hunk at 5ft 11in. He has dated, and been married to, some of the most beautiful women in Tinseltown: Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Aniston and now Angelina Jolie.

Pitt has his hands full with three adopted and three biological children with wife Angelina Jolie.

He won a Golden Globe in 1996 for Best Performance in a Leading Role for Twelve Monkeys. Nominated for two Oscars, he’s never picked up that elusive win but has a total of 25 wins and 44 nominations.
