Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta: Shahrukh Khan Caught In The Jittery Road For ‘Don 2’

Priyanka Chopra and Lara Dutta have finally met in Berlin, and how! Recently, Priyanka Chopra, the hot sexy gal of B town, touched Berlin and landed bang on to the sets of Ritesh Sidhwani’s ‘Don 2’,directed by Farhan Akhtar, where the rest of the cast and crew had already assembled much before.

Reportedly, the two hotties, Priyanka Chopra and Lara Dutta hardly could be called friends at the moment, as the fact is that as Priyanka walked in to the sets of the film, both of them just barely managed to exchange a thin line, that could be given an award for the frostiest smiles ever, and then Priyanka moved on to gel with the other members of the cast and crew, and greeted Shahrukh Khan with the friendliest warmest greeting!

Well, so to speak, Lara had reached Berlin, where the shoot is taking place a week before and thus she seemed quite comfortable with the members of the film unit, however, Priyanka, who had to stay back in Mumbai due to an ad shoot, was a tad bit late in joining them.
However, since Lara and Priyanka have met after a gap of almost eight years(they had worked in ‘Andaaz’ together in 2002,being a debut film for both of them),both were slightly awkward in their stance, but hope fully they do start gelling well as time passes.

But, the question is, how on earth will Shahrukh manage the cold vibes between both his leading actresses? Gossip columns are rife with SRK being caught on the jittery road for ‘Don 2’, thanks to the two leading ladies!

But, let’s hope SRK manages to create some sort of warmth with his cool dude attitude, and thus create an atmosphere of a happy ambience on the sets of ‘Don 2’,otherwise it will be difficult to decide which is more biting, the cold winds in Berlin, or the cold vibes flying between Priyanka and Lara?

Priyanka wants to beat Shahrukh

Priyanka Chopra who is set to host the daredevil show Fear Factor on TV has now decided to so all her stunts in the upcoming sequel of Don.

We hear that she would be doing high speed summersault jumps and plunges in the film all by herself. She would not let any body double perform these stunts for her and has also asked her director to not keep her gender in mind while devising her stunts.

She is raring to perform the stunts as tough as that of her co-star Shahrukh Khan. Without revealing much she assures that the Don 2 will have far more intricate stunts than in the Don.

She is of opinion that today’s audience do not fall for body doubles. So as to make it look convincing she has decided to do it on her own.

Shahrukh Khan showered with flowery words by Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra, the 2000 Miss World and one of the leading ladies of the present Bollywood recently received the National Award for her stellar performance in Madhur Bhandarkar’s film ‘Fashion’. And her co-star from ‘Don’ Shahrukh Khan had lavished bucketfuls of praise on Piggy Chops.

And, the suave and super hot actress whose killer looks in ‘Pyaar Impossible’ failed to draw in the audience, showers flowery words for the King Khan. She says in his eulogy,

“I have been very vocal about my feelings for Shah Rukh Khan. I can’t tell you how proud, excited and humbled I am that he called me a ‘Shero’. Especially since he is someone I have admired from a very young age. Praise coming from someone I idolise means a lot more to me. It feels even better because when you are self made, you are constantly looking for someone to say that you are doing the right thing. The fear factor is huge, you keep asking yourself, ‘Am I going the right way?’ I have no formal training. I don’t know films up, close and personal. My schooling has been my career. When compliments like this and awards happen, it just gives me the signal that I am headed in the right direction. I’m going to find my feet soon”

Well, the Shero looks really sultry in a golden swimsuit near the blue sea. And besides SRK, even Aishwarya’s hubby Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham would vouch for that. What say folks?

Shahrukh Khan, Karan Johar, Priyanka, Hrithik-Raining of Bollywood stars at IPL 3 Award show

The Badshah of Bollywood-Shahrukh Khan and his alleged best friend cum brother Karan Johar will come together to host the IPL Awards night.

Shahrukh’s team Kolkata Knight Riders failed to give good performance in IPL 3, even after consulting astrologers and changing jersey colors. Hopefully this awards show will help the Khan to forget his not so old wounds.

Since Shahrukh is famous for poking fun at even himself which is indeed a rare quality, we are watching with bated breathe if he makes any mention of the dismal performance of his team at the awards.

According to latest reports, the category of awards will include IPL Jury Awards, Viewers Choice Awards, Statistical Awards, The IPL Captain’s Award, Best Commentator, Most stylish player, then the Winner’s Awards and Awards for best batting and bowling, etc.

The judges will include people who have established themselves in the arena of sports and will include Sunil Gavaskar, Harsha Bhogle, Lalit Modi, Brian Lara, Javagal Srinath and the umpire Samuel Taufel.

If Shahrukh is there, can the Bollywood brigade be left far behind? Bollywood will unleash its star power with powerpacked and energetic performances by celebrities like Priyanka Chopra, Shilpa Shetty, Hrithik Roshan etc.

A.R.Rahman will also woo the audience with a magical live performance.

Shahrukh Khan stretches the joke too far?

One of the important things about cracking a joke is to know when to end it. Shahrukh Khan, who doubtlessly has a superb sense of humour, however, unwittingly stretched a joke too far for some people’s comfort at the Star Screen award show recently.

Stepping on stage to host a segment of the show, SRK pulled the anchor Shahid Kapoor’s leg over his alleged affair with Priyanka Chopra - about how the couple has got the media in a tizzy over their off-and-on relationship.

Seated among the audiences was Harman Baweja, Priyanka’s ex beau who had tough time dealing with the break off when PC got involved with Shahid.

Though SRK’s joke was scripted, it certainly didn’t please Harman. According to reports, as soon as SRK’s segment was over, Harman and his sister Rowena left the show.

Shahid, too, didn’t respond much to SRK’s gag. However, the audience definitely seemed to be enjoying it.

It’s Priyanka Chopra for Shahrukh Khan!

No doubt, actor-director Farhan Akhtar is going gaga over his Karthik Calling Karthik co-star Deepika Padukone, and grapevine even suggests that ‘Don 2’ belongs to her.

But it is Priyanka Chopra again for the sequel and the reason for her clinching the role is the Don himself - Shahrukh Khan. Yes, as per reports, King Khan is so fond of Piggy Chops that any other actress in her place for ‘Don 2’ is out of question. “As Shah Rukh Khan is very fond of PC, there was no rethinking at all who would be his co-star,” claims a tabloid.

As for now, PC is off to New York for shooting Anjaana Anjaani. And about Deepika, she has to wait to star opposite SRK.

Isn’t Priyanka the right choice for ‘Don 2’?

Priyanka: SRK, Sir?

Priyanka Chopra is on cloud nine. Certainly not because she exchanged pleasantries with Akshay Kumar at some awards night, but because the Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan praised her to the press at the media showcase of My Name Is Khan. No wonder the actress can't stop gushing.

At the event talking about Priyanka, Shah Rukh said, "Priyanka is one of the finest actresses of this generation. Five years down the line, Priyanka will still be on top. She has tremendous appeal as an actress and her voice and diction is terrific."

SRK, who has worked with PC in Don and will be seen with her in the sequel — Don 2, says, "Priyanka is disciplined, talented and a very professional girl. I'm fond of her."

The superstar recalls how PC embarrassed him on their first meeting by telling him that she was barely 12 when she saw Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge. "I felt old," he jokes.

What is more SRK, said PC has never taken his name all these years despite having worked with him. PC on her part says, "I'm Shah Rukh's most ardent fan. When I was younger, my parents would have to put on Chamatkar for me, if they wanted me to eat my food. I have seen the film at least 35 times."

PC adds, "I can't address SRK by his name, and I don't want to call him 'Sir' because I think that is too formal. Also the truth is, when SRK is around, I'm normally speechless. Seeing my icon in flesh has that effect on me."
The Kaminey actress says, "I'm truly happy that SRK and his wife Gauri are my well-wishers."

Shahrukh Khan Some of the biggest names from the film industry would be seen paying tribute to Michael Jackson on his 51st birthday. Come 29th of August and Shah Rukh Khan, Vishal and Shekhar, Shahid Kapoor, Shankar Mahadevan, Prabhu Deva, Priyanka Chopra and Yuvraj Singh amongst others would be featuring in a music video titled 'Make it Large- A tribute to Michael Jackson'.

It was Shah Rukh Khan's idea to get a tribute rolling for the music legend who passed away on 25th June this year.

Says Vishal Dadlani of Vishal-Shekhar duo, "The entire world was upset about his demise and so were Shekhar (Ravjiani) and I. We happened to meet Shah Rukh and he also expressed his thought about doing something that would be befitting the stature of the man who entertained us for decades. This is how the idea around the music video was born."

Vishal and Shekhar soon set a task for themselves and began working on the song. It was decided that the music video would be launched on 29th August to coincide with Michael Jackson's birthday. Update: Shah Rukh Khan detained and questioned at US airport

Colleagues express disgust

Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan was on Saturday (August 15) questioned for two hours at New Jersey’s Newark airport over his surname and was freed only after Indian diplomats intervened.

The Indian government and entertainment industry reacted furiously after the 43-year-old actor, named by Newsweek last year as one of the world's 50 most powerful men, revealed how he was detained and stopped from even using his mobile telephone.

Speaking to CNN-IBN channel on telephone from the US, Shah Rukh appeared to shrug off the embarrassing episode saying he had suffered similar treatment previously too.

The incident happened as the hugely popular actor, whose fans number millions in India and abroad, was on his way to Chicago to attend an event related to India's Independence Day.

Other Bollywood stars like Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan too are set to attend the function.

"They checked me because I was an Asian," the actor said. "They wanted to know why I came to the US and where I am staying."

Shah Rukh's manager Niloufer Qureshi earlier told IANS over telephone from Mumbai: "He was detained because his surname is Khan. He was kept until officials from the Indian embassy intervened."

Asked if he got into trouble because of his giveaway Muslim name, Shah Rukh, who is married to a Hindu, said: "Certain countries have issues with my name." He quickly added: "I am very proud of my name."

Shah Rukh admitted that he became "greatly worried" as the American officials piled him with questions - mainly about his travel to the US.

The actor said a large number of Indians, including organisers of the Chicago event, were waiting outside at the airport to receive him. Indian diplomats came to his rescue when they heard about his plight.

He said it was ironic that the incident happened on the eve of August 15 - when freedom is celebrated by Indians.

"I personally feel it is over and done," he said, sounding conciliatory. Asked if he felt like reacting in a similar way, he replied: "If they want I can frisk Angelina Jolie when she is here (India)."

Undoubtedly one of Bollywood's biggest and most highly paid stars, Shah Rukh has acted in nearly 70 films in a career spanning 17 years.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni Saturday reacted angrily to Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan being detained at a US airport, saying it was not justified.

"I don't think that this manner of detaining the name of religion is justified. But in the United States of America several examples have surfaced where frisking takes place more than required, according to us," Soni, who was the tourism minister in the previous government, told reporters here.

"I have always felt - even when I was frisked there - that the way they frisk us we should do the same for them here," she added.

"He was detained because his surname is Khan. He was kept until officials from the Indian embassy intervened. Now he has been released," Niloufer Qureshi, Shah Rukh's manager, told IANS over telephone from Mumbai.

In April, former president A.P.J. Kalam was also frisked at the Indira Gandhi International Airport here as he was boarding a flight of US carrier Continental Airlines.

The incident had created waves in parliament in July, with MPs from across the spectrum expressing outrage over Kalam being reportedly subjected to a full body check and even asked to remove his footwear as he waited on the aerobridge to board the Newark-bound flight.

Meanwhile, in New Delhi, External Affairs Ministry Spokesman Vishnu Prakash has said India has taken up the issue with the US embassy and the consul general of

India in New York is in touch with Shah Rukh.

"The matter was taken up with the US embassy," Prakash said.

In a statement, US Ambassador to India Timothy J. Roemer said: "We are trying to ascertain the facts of the case - to understand what took place."

Shah Rukh was a "global icon" and "he is a very welcome guest in the United States. Many Americans love his films," the envoy added.

Describing Shah Rukh as the "pride of India", Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi expressed surprise he was detained at the airport.

"Shah Rukh Khan is the pride of India. I am quite surprised that he was detained in the Newark airport," Ravi told IANS on the phone from Kochi.

Here's what King Khan's friends and colleagues had to say:

Karan Johar: I am shocked and upset...feeling terrible for Shah Rukh.

Priyanka Chopra: Shocking, disturbing and downright disgraceful. It's such behaviour that fuels hatred and racism. Shah Rukh Khan is a world figure for god's sake. Get real!

Kabir Khan: When I heard this news, I was so surprised...it has almost become a routine - if you have a Muslim name you are bound to be questioned. It happened with me thrice in the US. I was stopped by immigration officials for three to five hours... they don't care whether you are a celebrity or whoever. But when it comes to Shah Rukh, it doesn't take more than 20 seconds to figure out who he is - any search engine (on the Internet) will give more information on him than Hollywood stars Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt and despite that if it took them two hours to figure out, then its harassment. Post 9/11 it is prejudice to have a person's name and religion checked and it is very discouraging as well.

Pritish Nandy: This is the problem with law enforcers worldwide...Truly obnoxious. Cops don't want to recognise anybody. They love to show their power and authority, especially in the US.

Kunal Kohli: It's really disgusting. Even if they had done a Google search on their mobiles, they would have seen who he is. What were they checking for two hours on their super computers? To detain him for two hours is ridiculous, disgusting and an insult to us Indians.

Arindam Chaudhari: Shah Rukh has just finished his film "My Name Is Khan" in which his character tries to prove to the Americans that he is not a terrorist. I'm sure he never thought it would happen in real life too...What a shame! It's shocking and shameful because I am sure Shah Rukh would have had to explain who he is. It's Shah Rukh so it's become big news. But there many who constantly go through this every day. It's really sad.

Eesha Koppikhar: I am not sure of the exact events but if he was detained just because he is a Muslim with Khan as a last name, it is very wrong.

KJo, Priyanka feel terrible for SRK

"I'm shocked and upset...feeling terrible for Shah Rukh," said Karan Johar, after his friend actor Shah Rukh Khan was detained at a US airport for having the last name 'Khan'.

Actress Priyanka Chopra also tweeted, "Shocking, disturbing and downright disgraceful. It's such behavior that fuels hatred and racism. SRK's a world figure for God's sake. GET REAL!!"

In an earlier post on Independence Day, Karan wrote, Freedom...underrated...often misused...and always taken for granted...respect it and honour it...today and forever!"

Music director Vishal Dadlani (of Vishal-Shekhar fame) also posted, "This is plain silly!! I mean, a quick internet search would tell them what they need to know about SRK!! Paranoia breeds stupidity, I guess!"

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh told a channel, "The US has developed religious paranoia over the years. My guard was also denied a visa because he has the same last name as mine. They said I can't use my phone."

Shah Rukh was detained for over two hours at the Newark airport, New Jersey. He was released after Indian embassy officials vouched for him. He was in the US to attend Independence Day celebrations.

The star, who is currently filming for My Name is Khan, underwent "humiliating" questioning even as he told authorities he was an Indian celebrity. His bodyguards were also grilled.

Several Bollywood celebs are in the US for I-Day celebrations, including Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan.
