SRK's Knight Riders music to be out soon

Actor Shahrukh Khan said the first music album of his IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders will be out in two to three days.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function organised by ICICI Bank, Khan said: "music composers Bappi Lahiri and Pritam are part of it and I will ask Bipasha Basu and Rani Mukherji to be part of it".

Replying to questions, Khan rejected speculation that he is no longer part of TV game show Kya Aap Panchvi Pass Se Tez Hain? which will go on the air on Star Plus.

"This was nothing but an April fool joke. I have shot three episodes and am shooting for it for the rest of the week. The show is coming out very well," he said.

On reports of Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan also hosting shows on television, Khan said he had no information about Akshay. But Salman will host a show.

"It is good. The more the merrier," he added.

About his upcoming film Bhootnath with Amitabh Bachchan and reports that their "cold war" had delayed the film, Khan said "I will not say journalism is becoming immature. I will say it is becoming young."

He said that earlier he used to get worried why he was being asked about his so-called cold war with the Big B.

"But both of us are too mature and educated to be affected by this talk of cold war," he added.

"I have the highest regard for Amitabh Bachchan and so does he for me. We had a good time shooting Bhootnath. Relationships flourish when we are working together. Otherwise, we are so busy that we hardly get time to socialise," he added.

Shah Rukh Khan's 'suave banker' look

ICICI launches Global Indian Account with SRK>

Shah Rukh Khan, brand ambassador of ICICI, attended a press event to announce the launch of the bank's Global Indian Account, at the Grand Hyatt, Kalina, Mumbai Friday, April 4.

He wore a blue silk tuxedo jacket with shawl collar over a V Neckline black Tee.

His side parted hair, with deep brown highlights, looked tidy, befitting the nature of the client he was endorsing. He looked suave but still filmi.

In the past we have seen him a lot more filmi, squinting through long bangs falling over his forehead.

He did not look gawky either and finally we were glad to see him not smoking!

The Global Indian Account facility is aimed at the banking needs of Indians moving to UK, US and Canada. The customers can fulfill the documentation formalities for their bank account, debit card and internet banking before departing India.

Shah Rukh will be traveling abroad to promote the concept among his NRI fans.

A bonafide ICICI credit card user himself, Shah Rukh had lost his card in February. It was recovered when three men splurged on clothes at Shopper's Stop at Nirmal Lifestyle in Mulund, Mumbai and then produced his card to pay for the Rs 25,000/- charge.

Interestingly, Shah Rukh Khan replaced Amitabh Bachchan as the brand ambassador for ICICI bank in January 2006.

"If Shoaib is out, I’ll bowl," says Shah Rukh

A belligerent Shah Rukh Khan may not have been serious when he said he was willing to get on to the field and bowl instead of banned pacebowler Shoaib Akhtar.

But his statement to the press outside his Bandra bungalow, Mannat, is an indication of the frustration the Kolkata Indian Premier League owner faced after his star player was banned from IPL matches yesterday.

“I have only one other option, I will bowl myself!” said Khan.

‘Shoaib is a pillar of strength’

On a more serious note, the actor said he planned to meet IPL chairman Lalit Modi and other cricketing officials today to reconsider the IPL ban on Akhtar.

“We planned the team keeping him in mind. He is the team’s pillar of strength. We will take the matter to the officials and hopefully it will work out in our favour,” said Khan.

Khan’s comments could come as a relief to Akhtar, considering it’s the only vote of confidence he has received after the PCB banned him for five years two days ago.

In the aftermath, Pakistan’s former skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq went on record to say the ban was correct. Yesterday, Kapil Dev’s ICL said they wouldn’t consider him unless the ban is lifted as they did not want to ‘spoil their relationship with anyone’.

Yet, SRK’s support for Shoaib is not surprising. One, he paid Rs 1.69 crore for getting the bowler into the Kolkata Knight Riders, the IPL team he owns.

And two, he has always been vociferous about his support for Shoaib. Speaking to this paper, when he was a guest editor on November 2, SRK had said Shoaib was misunderstood.

Support for the bowler has also been pouring in from Nawaz Sharif and PM Yousaf Gilani.

SRK's loves Aamir's women!

After trying to create an imaginary rift between Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh/Abhishek Bachchan, Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Akshay Kumar, Ranbir Kapoor.......... upto infinity, and their latest fermented victim, Aamir Khan, the yellow journos are searching for the next target.

Keeping the tradition alive, we have an appropriate headline, in a bid to attract the interest of such propagators!

On a serious note, coming back to what we want to tell you about, Bollywood's global superstar, Shah Rukh Khan, recently disclosed who his favourite Bollywood women characters are. Interestingly, they both are the leading ladies of his latest (supposed) rival, Aamir Khan.

King Khan said that he has immensely enjoyed watching Pooja Bhatt's character in Mahesh Bhatt's DIL HAI KE MANTA NAHIN and Juhi Chawla in Aamir Khan's debut movie, QAYAMAT SE QAYAMAT TAK. He adds that he loved the part where Juhi says-"Hum aapki side main aajayein." He was bowled over by the usage of 'hum', which he felt was nice and endearing.

Well, here is hoping that our mock headline grabbing title hammers some sense into the theoretical journos and they get objective for a (pleasant) change.

Deepika snubs Mrs.Shah Rukh Khan

They say that sometimes fame can go to one's head.

And one star who seems to have acquired some rather starry ways is Deepika Padukone. Flushed with the success of her film, Om Shanti Om, opposite Shah Rukh Khan, the young actress has been giving others associated with the film, the cold shoulder.

It started with the film's director Farah Khan. Deepika simply forgot to wish Farah on her birthday.

Now, the latest to get the 'treatment' is Shah Rukh's wife, Gauri Khan. The story goes that Deepika ignored Gauri, who produced OSO, at the recently concluded Lakme Fashion Week because she was too busy with her boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor's mother, Neetu Singh. The two were cheering for Ranbir, who walked the ramp for designer Arjun Khanna.

"She did not even say hello to Gauri and completely ignored her," a source, who was present at the event, told Gullu.

While Farah said she is used to this type of behaviour as she knows how the industry works, we do not know what Gauri thinks about it. Time will tell.

SRK-Sonam: Wah kya jodi hai!

One question that everyone has been asking lately is will Shah Rukh Khan and Aditya Chopra be able to create the same magic as that of 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge' once more?

The B-town will get the answer to this question on December 12 when 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' will be released. This movie also will be the coming back movie for Aditya Chopra as a director after eight years.

Insiders says us that superstar Shah Rukh Khan will begin shooting for 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' in May. Big B too plays a significant role in this movie. Sonam Kapoor will be playing the love interest of King Khan.

Different rumours about the storyline of the film are poping up each day, but from what we have heard this flick will zoom in on the love story between a 40-year-old and a teenaged girl.

Well if that's the real subject of the movie, we will just have to watch on how Aditya Chopra gives his refreshing touch to this love story.

Given his amazing ways of presenting love stories, people will expect something that can break the record that 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge' attained.

Sonam Kapoor right now has two very juicey projects in her hand including Rakeysh Mehra's 'Dilli 6' and now 'Rab Ne Bana De Jodi'. Lets wait out to see if this Kapoor girl carves a niche for herself this time.

After this hiatus of eight years away from direction, Aditya must be having something quite fresh and exiting up his sleeve.

So let's expect another milestone and record from the Yashraj Camp this time!

New headache for SRK’s IPL carnival

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who jointly owns the Kolkata Knight Riders through his production company Red Chillies Entertainment, is up against a wall now, with the Army and the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) demanding massive sums of money for giving Eden Gardens the go-ahead for the IPL carnival.

With the Indian Premier League (IPL) extravaganza just a fortnight away now, the Twenty20 tournament’s Kolkata leg has been dealt a fresh blow over a new money-sharing dispute.

It was learnt through reliable sources in the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) that Army, which owns the Eden Gardens — venue of the IPL matches in Kolkata — has asked the tournament’s organisers to pay up a whopping Rs 6 crore to get the green signal for hosting the matches. And even as the CAB administration has thrown the ball in the court of the Kolkata franchisee Red Chillies Entertainment, another setback came calling, this from the KMC.

The Corporation is learnt to have asked the organisers to pay Rs 20 for every seat from the general stands for the entire 7-seven phase for the IPL’s Kolkata chapter, which effectively runs into several crore Rupees.

Eden Gardens will host seven home matches of the Kolkata Knight Riders, with their opening home match slated for April 20 against Hyderabad’s Deccan Chargers.

Samar Khan: You look up to SRK

With Samar Khan's SHAURYA barely 24-hours away, the makers must be quite confident about their quality product. The intelligent promos, the classy yet apt music and the personal interest that the entire cast has taken in the promotion of the movie have all ensured that the prestigious PVR release, SHAURYA, would definitely make an impact.

Keeping the importance of the occasion in mind, we decided to ask the SHAURYA director Samar Khan as to why Shah Rukh Khan has been a constant feature in his projects. To be specific, we wanted to know about his relationship with Bollywood's global superstar, Shah Rukh Khan. Samar's reply was an eye opener for us. He said, "I share a very personal relationship with Shah Rukh Khan. In a way, he has supported and looked after me, right from the day I landed in Bombay. His large heartedness can be gauged from the fact that he does things for people without expecting anything in return. You can only admire and look up to him."

Well, we wish Samar all the best for SHAURYA and thank him for revealing a hitherto unknown facet of the generous King Khan.

SRK woos kids

Wants to give awards to deserving bachcha log; has tied up with D’damas to give out helmets made of out real gold!

When Shah Rukh Khan takes up a project, he pursues it single-mindedly. He puts all he has behind it. I read in a business bible that success hinges on hard work, honesty, endurance and perseverance, and anyone who combines
these attributes will always be successful.

SRK was crowned King Khan a decade ago. Anyone who thinks he is in his position by accident, is undermining him. Big mistake. The actor’s current obsession is his team Knight Riders and he’s dreaming up an idea a minute. Whether it is the uniform for his team, the helmets, the watches (Tag Heuer is the official time keeper!), the website(kolkataknightriders.com) and the music videos… (he gave us a sneak peek on his laptop) he is involved with every little aspect of his team.

Whether his team eventually succeeds or not is the only thing he cannot control. But by the time he is through with his plans, that won’t even matter anymore. Excerpts from a chat with Khan.

You are tying up with big MNCs for your team.
Yes, we have Reebok, who are doing the clothes for the team. We have discussions on the fabrics and the colours etc everyday. We’ve tied up with Tag Heuer for the watches, but the first batch isn’t out yet. I want the team to have the first lot. It’s black and costs about Rs 45,000. They’ll not be bulky, and will be easy to wear. The uniform is black and gold. The helmets are gold all made with the youth market in mind.

You plan to get into merchandising in a big way, right?
Yes, I don’t know why merchandising has never worked here before. I want to change that. I have asked Reebok to launch a line that the youngsters can afford. Normal tees cost about Rs 2500 upwards? That’s not going to be easy on the pocket of the youngsters I’m targetting. I have told them to come up with tees that cost about Rs 250-300. I’m also tying up with Planet M, and they will keep the Knight Riders merchandise all over the country at shops where children aged 12 upwards hang out.

Catching ’em young, eh?
Why not? They are the future. I want to speak the language the youngsters do. I see my children and they speak a different language from us. I want to teach the kids things that are different from what our parents taught us. Our parents told us that we should go easy in life and life’s not all about work. I say it is. Times have changed and the way we live it, has to change too. You should go out there and fight, and win, and achieve things. If you see our videos, that’s the message we are sending out. We’ve even signed on bands that will appeal to the present generation. I hadn’t even heard of them. They were recommended to me, and I liked them.

You plan to shoot more videos?
Yes, the first one is already out but I want to make more. Shoot three videos out of the six songs that we have. People should not get bored looking at the same thing.

Any other plans?
We’ve tied up with D’damas and they’ve made gold helmets, like the team wears. Except these are made of real gold. I think roughly costing about 15 lakh. I want to start some sort of an award where I give these to deserving kids. Someone who has done something brave, or achieved something in life, on their own.

Juhi to replace Amisha in 'Billoo Barbar'

Produced by Shah Rukh Khan under the Red Chillies Entertainment banner, Billoo Barber is rumoured to be the story of Lord Krishna and his best friend Sudama. Shah Rukh will play Krishna whereas Irrfan Khan will play Sudama. But the film is set in modern times.
Amisha was offered a small but vital role as Irrfan's wife in the film. But she opted out because she felt the role was too insignificant.

In Priyadarshan's earlier film, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Amisha had a small but important role as well. But this time, it looks like the actress wanted better.

Left with no heroine, it is learnt that SRK has requested his good friend Juhi to step in.

Shah Rukh and Juhi have been close friends since 1992's Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, when Juhi was a star and Shah Rukh, a relative newcomer. They had also formed their production company, Dreamz Unlimited, which made the flop, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani.

The last time SRK and Juhi were seen together in a film was Paheli, also produced by Red Chillies.
