Animation fails to make SRK-Salman bond
News is that Karan Johar, who is making an animated version of his directorial debut Kuch Kuch Hota Hai called Kuchie Kuchie Hota Hai has roped in Sanjay Dutt to do the voiceover for the character that Salman played in the original. However, the other actors — Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji — will dub for the animated version.
Some industry people say Sanjay dubbing for Salman could be a result of the SRK-Salman fight as Karan and SRK are close friends and King Khan is in no mood to reconcile with Salman. However, Karan says the inclusion of Sanjay was due to the changes made to the character Salman originally played.
Karan says, “It is true that Sanjay Dutt is lending his voice to the character that Salman played in the original film. In the animated version we made certain modifications to Salman’s character and so after those changes, we realised that Sanjay Dutt was best suited to lend his voice for it. It was not due to any other reason.”
Whatever may be the reason, SRK and Salman are definitely not sharing screen-space, not even in animation.

Sanju to play peacemaker
Speaking from Cape Town, Dutt says, "I still can't believe what's happened. I am shocked! I am so glad I am out of all this. It would have been painful for me to have seen something that involved two of my dearest friends."
B-Town is going through a state of flux after the SRK-Salman fight with most stars picking camps. Is he going to pick a side? Dutt says firmly, "No way! I am very close to both and it would be impossible for me to take sides.
Both Shah Rukh and Salman are like my younger brothers. I love them dearly and it wouldn't be fair of me to side with one of them. I have never been associated with any camp. I don't intend being part of one today."
His thoughts on the fight? Dutt says, "I can't comment on that. I am sure everyone has his/her own perspective; but what happened was very unfortunate. I am sure things could have been amicably solved."
Dutt has always been known as an elder brother who has been there for the industry when any situation has taken place be it raising funds for tsunami victims or fighting for a cause.
Has he tried to patch up things between SRK and Salman? "Well, I am busy shooting in South Africa right now but I will definitely try and do something when I am back."
'Don't invite guests if you're going to insult them'
Insiders are of the opinion that Dutt was shocked at Salman's behaviour. Says a source, "Sanju and his wife Mana felt that it was rude of Salman to invite Shah Rukh and then insult him.
You can't insult your own guest no matter what issues you have with him. If you have problems with someone, don't invite him to your party."

Shah Rukh and Amitabh Clash at Sanjay Dutt Book Launch
Share This Post
The event was hosted by Karan Johar while Dilip Kumar launched the book formally in Mumbai. Yes there was high tension as both SRK and Amitabh along with Amar Singh were present at the book launch.
The initial media response went to Amitabh but as soon as SRK made his late entry once the event started almost everyone forgot about Big B! Yes literally as everyone followed SRK whereever he went. Khan grabbed the opportunity to give the best pictures as well as bytes to tv channels.
So the big question did SRK and Big B meet each other? Yes they did and SRK only said adaab to Big B once and that's it. SRK even ignored Amar Singh and both the celebrities walked away without much interaction.

We are happy, and as always: SRK
Said Shah Rukh Khan, “We are happy, and as always, I will pray for the fact that this whole thing that has happened around him keeping justice and jurisdiction in mind. I hope everything else is sorted out for the best.”
Filmmaker Karan Johar recalled with nostalgia his emotional bond with Dutt. “Speaking about Sanju, I always speak emotionally because that’s the only way I can feel about the situation right now. He has been a member of our family . My father has known him very closely for many years and he is and will always remain our sanju baba. I am ecstatic and there is a huge sense of relief,” he said.
Actor Diya Mirza who has acted with Dutt in Lage Raho Munnabhai said she wished the best for the actor. “I am relieved as well and I do hope that this relief remains constant in his life. I do wish him well and hope fpr the best for him,” she said.
On Monday too, Bollywood rallied behind the actor and hailed the SC ruling. “We welcome the SC verdict. The Sanjay Dutt judgement needs to be re-looked into. I am going to cast him in my next film,” said veteran filmmaker Shyam Benegal.
Filmmaker Ashok Pandit said it was an emotionally positive moment for the industry. “He is our family member and we will stand by him,” he said.
Dutt is expected to be released from Yeravada jail on Tuesday after the Supreme Court order granting him bail reaches the prison authorities there.
Satish Mathur, IG Prisons, Maharashtra told PTI that the copy of the apex court order will be routed through the TADA court in Mumbai before it can be handed over.
Under these circumstances, the actor, who has served about three weeks of his six-year rigorous imprisonment sentence slapped by the TADA court in the Mumbai blasts case, is likely to walk out of jail only on Tuesday.

Shah Rukh Khan dissociated himself from the 'Save Sanjay Dutt Campaign'
Three days back, Mumbai's film fraternity had launched an online petition - www.petitiononline.com - expressing their solidarity with Dutt. The petition has been signed by nearly 2,000 people in the past three days and it was to be submitted to President Pratibha Patil.
Some of people named as signatories of the petition included Shah Rukh Khan, Bobby Deol, John Abraham, Dia Mirza, Farhan Akhtar, Mohit Ahlawat, Dabboo Ratnani, Atul Agnihotri, Manav Gangwni and Ritesh Sidhwani.
There is even a message for Dutt on the petition, which is attributed to SRK. "Sanjay, we are here for you and support you throughout. The film industry has faced a loss for six years not having you around. We love you and are praying for the best. Hope to see you soon. Inshallah," the message reads.
There are also messages attributed to Bobby Deol, Farhan Akhtar, Irfan Khan, Mohit Ahlawat, Sunny Deol, DJ Aqeel, Pajkumar Hirani and others.
The signatories of the petition appeal to the President to free Sanjay Sutt. "Please free Sanjay. He is a great guy and he commited and suffered enough. Ms President, please listen to us," the message attributed to Sunny Deol reads
"Free Sanju, because he does not deserve this. He is a good human being and always has thought of others before himself," a message said to be written by DJ Aqeel states.
But SRK now says he has nothing to do with the campaign. He said he has not joined any online campaign to save Sanjay.
The 'Save Sanjay Campaign' received a jolt on Monday when Nikam threatened legal action against those who have started the it.
"If someone starts such a campaign criticising the order of the court (before the prisoner seeks relief), it certainly amounts to contempt of court. I am watching the events carefully and if this continues, I will be forced to take legal action," Nikam said.
Even Sanjay Dutt’s sister, Lok Sabha MP Priya Dutt, has urged the actor’s Bollywood friends to refrain from such a support campaign. She said she wanted to take 'the legal route' to save her brother.
Apart from the online petition of the Bollywood stars, Sanjay Dutt's fans too have resorted to various means to drum up support for Dutt and express solidarity with him.
Some fans have launched a website www.boletoh.com to campaign for probation relief for Dutt.
"I support Sanjay Dutt not because I’m a fan, but because he has been jailed for 16 months and then given bail. He has behaved well for 10 years. Then why this whole thing again? It doesn't make sense," Mridula Sarachandra, an ardent Dutt supporter, says.
Some fans are also using SMS to gather support for Dutt. However, the move has angered those who believe the sentences were much deserved.

Shah rukh Khan and Suniel Shetty are set to lead a nationwide movement professing their support for Sanjay Dutt
Share This Post
It is not surprising how every person in the industry, who knows Sanjay Dutt, has been personally affected by the verdict against the actor. A lot of them feel that the affable and child-like actor didn’t deserve this harsh a punishment However, while a lot of them are happy with just going tut-tut, close friends like Shah Rukh Khan and Suniel Shetty have apparently decided to gear up and take some action.
According to sources, the two actors have decided to mobilise not only people from the industry but also those from all walks of life. According to a source, “Everyone who knows Sanju is upset with the verdict. It is too harsh. Shah Rukh and Suniel are in constant talks as to how they can help the cause. They have decided to launch a huge movement throughout the country, taking help from different unions, associations and people. A lot of the common people are also feeling that Sanjay should have been shown a little more leniency.”
Apparently, Suniel has already spoken to the hotel association and rickshaw unions, soliciting their support for Sanjay and they have agreed. The buzz is that the actors will also draft a petition, which will be signed by many prominent people in the city. When contacted, Suniel refused to divulge any details. However, he said, “We have to do something for Sanju. Just wait and watch!”
