SRK chooses Hirani
While Shah Rukh did not react to this immediately, he had a meeting with Hirani last week wherein he convinced the director to come up with his own production banner. Meanwhile the film based on Bhagat's novel will be a joint venture between Hirani's company and Shah Rukh's Red Chillies Entertainment. The shooting of the film is expected to start later this year or early next year after Hirani finishes work on Chopra's production 'Idiot'.

SRK walks out of Raju Hirani's next
Says a source, "Shah Rukh is upset because Chopra sent him a nasty letter accusing him of trying to steal 'his director' (Hirani) for his own production house!"
Playing games
Hirani's film, based on Chetan Bhagat's book Five Point Someone, has now been shelved as SRK doesn't want to be part of it any longer. Says a Chopra insider, "Raju is very keen to work with Shah Rukh. In fact, he had offered him both the Munnabhai films as well but it didn't work out then. Shah Rukh liked Hirani's new script and was trying to work his dates before things went wrong."
According to the source, SRK offered to star in and produce another film with Hirani under his banner, which upset Chopra. "SRK's offer was very clear: Red Chillies and Raj Kumar Hirani Productions would do a film together after Chopra's film was complete.
When Vinod came to know about this, he wasn't happy at all. So he dashed off a letter to SRK last week, accusing him of playing games and trying to steal Raju from under his nose. He said it was not right to broker a deal when his own film hadn't even started," says the source.
No deal
SRK, on his part, didn't understand what the fuss was about as his production was slated to start after Chopra's film was through. "He got angry with the tone of Chopra's letter because he has always been straightforward in all his dealings. He didn't like Chopra accusing him of playing games and questioning his integrity. He subsequently called Hirani and told him he couldn't do Chopra's film for him," says the source.
Both Shah Rukh and Vinod Chopra remained unavailable for comment.

SRK says No to Hirani
When Raju Hirani wrote Munnabhai MBBS, Shah Rukh Khan was his first choice for the role, but due to some reason, SRK did not do the role.
With Sanjay Dutt's future still in a flux, Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra kept the third part of the Munnabhai series aside and moved on to finalise SRK for their next, based on Chetan Bhagat's novel Five Point Someone. But the latest buzz doing the rounds is that SRK is not doing this Hirani project either.
The grapevine is that Khan is upset with Vidhu Vinod's unsavoury remarks against Paheli in the recent past (after his Eklavya was criticised for being India's official entry to the Oscars) and is reluctant to do a film with him. Vidhu Vinod had taken a dig at Paheli, saying that he had made no noise when Paheli was sent to the Oscars- thereby clearly hinting that the SRK starrer Paheli did not deserve the honour.
When contacted, SRK tells us, "I am not upset with Vidhu's comment on Paheli. I have no problems with anybody talking about films I do or make."
We probed further to confirm if he is doing Hirani's new directorial project. "It's not yet final," SRK says. "Saying yes or no to a film is a big process for me. It takes a lot of going back or forth on my part. So it does go through a lot of discussions. I wish I could get things done fast. As of now, I am discussing lots of films. I will be clear on it in a few weeks as I am currently busy with Om Shanti Om (which releases November 9) and Shankar's film Robot," he explains.
Vidhu Vinod Chopra remained unavailable for comment.

Hirani's original cast had SRK & Abhishek
Share This Post
However, not many will know that Hirani's original cast was Shah Rukh Khan and Abhishek Bachchan (once again after 'Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna'), but in walked John Abraham, replacing Abhishek Bachchan.
Apparently, Hirani was 'maha' impressed with the SRK-John Chemistry in the recent 'Pepsi My Can' campaign and that is what seems to have tilted the balance in John's favour.

Shahrukh Khan takes Munna Bhai's Place
The SRK-Hirani project is based on Chetan Bhagat’s book on the IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) culture, ‘Five Point Someone’. The story revolves around three friends, who are unable to cope with the pressures of being in the premier institution. it is said that the script is being reworked and some changes have been made. lets see if the magic of Munna Bhai and Lage Raho is seen in Hirani’s next project and how well does Shahrukh Khan deal with it. Another point to think about is that if there are three people in the lead wonder who the other two can be apart from SRK? Any Guesses who it might be?

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan is set to play the lead role in director Rajkumar Hirani's next film
Share This Post
Shah Rukh has been confirmed for the lead role in the film. However, the superstar has yet to allot his dates to Hirani.
Sources say Hirani is presently busy with the final draft of the script and other pre-production work of the project.
Once Hirani is through with it, he will finalize the remaining cast.
Hirani says he hopes to start shooting the film in January next year. By then SRK also would have finished the shooting of Shankar’s sci-fi movie Robot.

Shah Rukh to finalize his new assignments for next year
Share This Post
Not only that, the patchwork shooting of the film is also being done simultaneously. The next project that King Khan will shoot for is Rajkumar Hirani's film, which may commence in December. But what after that?
As per media reports, early next year, Shah Rukh Khan is likely to finalize his next project with close family friend, Karan Johar. The film in question is obviously the realistic, KHAN (working title).
The superstar is also expected to make a final decision regarding Farhan Akhtar's
DON 2.
But thats not all because contrary to the buzz, Shah Rukh Khan has not turned down Shirish Kunder's JOKER as yet.
