Shahrukh Khan to skip IIFA 2010

Actor Shah Rukh Khan, who was supposed to be the star attraction at this year’s IIFA awards in Colombo from June 3-5, has decided to give the event a miss.

“I don’t think I will be able to come for IIFA…too much work here, will miss Colombo,” SRK tweeted. Apart from upping the function’s star power, SRK was also supposed to captain the Bollywood team in a friendly cricket match against the Sri Lankan team.

Sabbas Joseph of Wizcraft, the show’s organisers, said, “Stars have their commitments. Hrithik Roshan will now be the captain,” SRK’s absence is another blow to the event after Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and hubby Abhishek announced that they won’t be attending the gala, usually touted as a Bachchan family affair. Amitabh Bachchan will only make a fleeting appearance.

The thunderous Khans to perform at IIFA!

Perhaps, the most high voltage awards ceremony of the year is going to be the IIFA awards to be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, from the 3rd to the 5th of June.

This year, Shahrukh Khan is to attend the awards after a gap of about 5 years, and he has already given his final nod for his performance at the prestigious event.

Another bollywood hunk, Salman Khan too has given his consent to perform at the coveted awards ceremony.

Now, the hot topic of discussion at the film circuits is that what would be the outcome when the two huge stars of bollywood would come together at the same event? Will they be cold with each other, or will they greet like some strangers, meeting for the first time?

Such speculations, are on due to the fact that just about a year back, there had been a scuffle between the two stars on Salman Khan’s friend Katrina Kaif’s birthday bash.

Ever since that that day, the two are not on talking terms. Reportedly, no one in the industry dares to tell the two of them anything regarding this.

Thus, it remains to be seen what the IIFA awards have in store for the world to see, when the two thunderous Khans stomp their feet on to the dancing floor!

CONFIRMED: Shahrukh Khan to perform at IIFA Awards 2010

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan will perform at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards being held in Colombo from June 3-5.

"This year Shah Rukh Khan will be performing at IIFA," Sabas Joseph, one of the directors of Wizcraft that organises the gala, said.

This quashes rumours that Shah Rukh is in a cold war with IIFA brand amabssador Amitabh Bachchan.

Shah Rukh, who last came for the Amsterdam IIFA in 2005, will also participate in a charity cricket match between Indian celebrities and Sri Lankan cricketers. The proceeds from this will be used to help rehabilitate former Tamil Tiger child soldiers.

Bollywood celebrities like Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Riteish Deshmukh and Vivek Oberoi will also be performing at the award function.

Apart from the main award ceremony, a global business forum, a fashion extravaganza, a film workshop and premieres of upcoming films will also be held.

The award ceremony is said to be hosted by Boman Irani and Riteish once again, along with Lara Dutta.

Shahrukh Khan to captain Bollywood cricket team at IIFA 2010

Cricket and Bollywood are soon going to be shaking hands again, this time for another cause but only with a sense of festivity. The venue being Sri Lanka, the twenty 20 charity match between Bollywood and the Sri Lankan cricketers will be played at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo on June 4. Organised by IIFA, this one would surely get the crowds soaring in.

To add to the delight, IIFA's Bollywood stars' cricket team is said to be captained by none other than Shahrukh Khan himself, while Kumar Sangakkara will captain the Sri Lankan cricket team. The festivity would be added by the local and Indian singers who would be performing there and the fans would have an opportunity the rub shoulders with their favourite stars. Add to that, the fact that the match isn't extremely serious, the general rules remain except that the Bollywood team gets to have eleven players in a rotating manner so that every player gets a chance to perform.

Sri Lanka Cricket along with the Sri Lanka Tourism are pleased to organise this match as the proceeds of this event go to Habitat and UNICEF.

Shahrukh Khan: The IIFA Entourage!

The IIFA Awards, to be held from the 3rd to the 5th of June, will see the King of bollywood, Shahrukh Khan participating after a gap of 5 years.

The last time that he was seen at the Awards was in 2005. Since Big B is the Brand Ambassador for the event, SRK had reportedly stopped attending the event when his relations with the Bachchan family was said to be a little strained.

However, at the screen Awards, earlier this year, the two stalwarts, Amitji and Shahrukh Khan had met with warmth that melted many hearts and it showed that they both had a sincere feeling of brotherhood amongst them.

Thus, this year, the Baadshah is set to make a comeback and set the stage on fire. Now, with SRK present there, can his gang of loyal friends be far behind? No way! So, reportedly, the best of the bollywood circle is going to be there.

Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan: The Dumb charade in Colombo, Sri Lanka!

The IIFA Awards to be held in Colombo Sri Lanka will have the two terrific Khans performing on stage, with their electrifying performances, to make the event into a very memorable one

The two great moguls of entertainment, Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan, are going to attend the Awards, to be held from the 3RD to the 5th of May, in the exotic Country.

However, what lies ahead with the two most magnificent stars, not on talking terms, shining in bollywood sharing the same venue for three whole days, is something, which is creating more enthusiasm than the event as such.

The whole thing, about not being on talking terms had occurred around two years ago, during the birthday party of Kat, when Shahrukh had suddenly left the party with wife Gauri, as there had been some scuffle with him and Salman.

Yet, when quizzed about it, both the macho hunks are very casual about it, and recently, Shahrukh openly admitted that he and Salman were not on talking terms.

Shahrukh and Hrithik to shake a leg together at IIFA

Best buddies Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan have committed to shake a leg on stage at an International Awards Function in Colombo later this year.

What is interesting is the news that Hrithik may also have his Kites co-star Barbara Mori joining him for an act on the same stage.
