Hospital says family, including King Khan and Gauri, insisted on the change
Shah Rukh Khan's father-in-law RP Chibba was shifted from Max Healthcare to Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, Okhla, on Tuesday afternoon.
"He was complaining of continued chest pain and discomfort when brought here," says a source at the Fortis hospital.
The authorities at Max hospital maintained that Chibba was brought in with a "bad heart condition" to the hospital on Sunday evening and his condition stabilised in just one day of his stay at the hospital. "Chibba was shifted from Max in a stable condition. His being shifted to another hospital was a completely personal decision.
It was entirely on the insistence of the family members including his son and daughter-in-law besides Shahrukh and Gauri," said a Max Healthcare source.
"Ramesh Chhiba was moved last evening to Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, from Max Hospital. He came in with a complaint of persistent chest pain and uneasiness and was shifted under the charge of Dr Ashok Seth, Chairman Cardiac Sciences at Fortis," said a Fortis official.
"Dr Seth is treating him and has been focused on stabilizing the patient. Once Mr. Chhiba stabilizes, he will be made to go through a double vessel angioplasty," he said.
