Shahrukh Khan goes Green
Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan raises mass awareness on environment protection by saying little drops of water make a mighty ocean.
At the screening and a photo exhibition for ‘Environment Protection’ organised by Consulate General of France, SRK said, “Every individual must be utmost cautious and not to waste natural resources, be it water or any other entity.”
“I don’t think we are cautious about such small things. But it is necessary to take notice. It might be possible that in our lifetime nothing happens, but as the new years come, I am sure some problems will definitely be there. Although there are talks that the world will end, universe will collapse but I think it might not collapse by some external factor but we ourselves will end up destroying it, like the way we have been doing it. So I think it’s an important aspect,” he said.
“Most of us who live in big towns or live in economically-forward countries, I think we give less notice to such things. We generally neglect them. Even if I am thinking about such things in over the last one-two years, it is because of such movements or talks by NGO’s which make you feel once or twice such as) while shaving to close the tap and to do other small things,” he added.
SRK is very pleased at the introduction of environmental studies as an academic topic in schools.
“And one good thing I have realised while teaching my children is that environmental studies have been introduced as a subject in school for the last 4-5 years. So that’s a very good thing.”
Greenpeace protest in IndiaThe Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research has reported that, if the predictions relating to global warming made by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change come to fruition, climate-related factors could cause India’s GDP to decline by up to 9%; contributing to this would be shifting growing seasons for major crops such as rice, production of which could fall by 40%. Around seven million people are projected to be displaced due to, among other factors, submersion of parts of Mumbai and Chennai, if global temperatures were to rise by a mere 2 °C (3.6 °F).
The Himalayas, for example, have been warming three times as fast as the world average, with the result that their glaciers are shrinking more rapidly than anywhere else and could disappear by 2035.
China and India account for 10 percent and 3 percent, respectively, of the man-made greenhouse gases now in the atmosphere, compared with 75 percent for the developed world (according to data compiled by the World Resources Institute). As patterns of rainfall shift to more deluges as well as more droughts due to the when-it-rains-it-pours phenomenon that global warming causes, both countries will also suffer more floods. The two countries are among the most threatened by climate change, but their huge populations mean they will still be heavily reliant on burning fossil fuels to try to lift millions out of poverty.
The UN Inter-governmental Panel on Climate Change predicts that Global Warming could raise sea levels up to 58 centimetres and submerge low-lying islands by 2100.
Therefore, the raising of awareness by a Bollywood icon like SRK should definitely make a difference to those ignoring or completely unaware of what global warming is doing to the world and especially, India.

"The camp has been fruitful. I am trying to change the fortunes of the team this season," Whatmore said.
Asked about his interaction with skipper Sourav Ganguly, Whatmore said: "Sourav is a great player. He has made a good contribution to the game."

"Generally, sab aatankwad ke baare mein meri raye poochte hain. Shayad main Muslim hoon isliye. Lekin mera manna hai ki aatankwad ke baare mein kisi ki bhi do raaye nahin ho sakti."
"The Indian civilisation doesn't distinguish in terms of religion. We are an impossible achievement in the world and I'm very proud to be an Indian."
" Mere mohalle ki Ramlila mein maine vanar sena mein bandar ka role kiya hai. I've grown up reading the Quran, listened to the Gita, learnt Christianity from my school, and my wife is a Punjabi."
" My late father always said, 'Mazhab nahi sikhaata, aapas mein bair rakhna,' lekin aaj, har mazhab ke shaitanon ne, rakshason ne, apna ek naya religion bana liya hai...Terrorism."
" I want to live; we all want to live. It's our duty to wipe out terrorism, in thought and in deed. Believing in God, by whichever name we want to, is about leading a higher life. And there are no two ways about it."

When Shahrukh and Hrithik bonded
Prior to the reception the Roshans and their family members went to Mannat for a get-together with Shahrukh and Gauri. They came to Grand Hyatt in a large group to wish the newly married couple. Once they were done with Shilpa and Raj's reception they headed straight back to Mannat to continue with the party. Bollywood stars really are party animals.

Farah & Shahrukh's HAPPY NEW YEAR starts in 2011!
If the latest reports are to be believed than Farah is all set to begin her long cherished project HAPPY NEW YEAR with buddy Shahrukh in the year 2011, after the release of Akshay-Katrina starrer TEES MAAR KHAN. Infact Farah has been telling people that she won't work with anyone else but SRK for the film.
Apparently HAPPY NEW YEAR got delayed as Shahrukh had suggested her to make some necessary changes. So in that process it got postponed for over a year and a half.
Hope this shuts all those wagging tongues trying to create a fissure in SRK & Farah's good friendship!

ShahRukh Khan to Build Sports Complex, theme parks, Stadiums and Luxury hotels In Debt Trapped Dubai!
Heard of the recent trap in the real Estate scene of Dubai? Well, there are several film stars and high profile men and women who have their money invested in the property of the up market arena which is real money playground for the rich and famous. However, even though the Dubai based company ‘Dubai World’ which is a government company, has asked for time to repay it’s debt of an astounding sum of $59 million which has all speculating on the fact that Emirates itself is going through rough times, ShahRukh has turned out to be the most sought after star there. It has been reported from very reliable sources that ShahRukh has come into a joint venture with many high end emirates property developers to get a stadium built as part of one big entertainment complex in Dubai. As Dubai is going through very tough times due to recession which has resulted in the crash of the real estate market and a huge debt on the economy of the glamorous city, ShahRukh has come up with this concept along with other developers so that the economy might roll over to a high again.
ShahRukh is the unofficial brand Ambassador of the Dubai Tourism Development Company.
He is also reported to have a hand in developing a $2.2 billion beach front residential complex at Ras Al Khaimas -an adjoining emirate called The ShahRukh Khan Boulevard.
Even though this particular residential project has been stalled for the time being, the Stadium is going to be built in a very fast and steady pace.
The project is called the Dubai Holding which is a state owned company. There are almost 45 projects to be included in it. There are theme parks, Stadiums and Luxury hotels. Even state of the art sports training facilities will be given to the weaker sections of society there.
There are plans to host international cricket matches at this venue and sources reveal that all his bollywood shows in Dubai will be staged there too.
If all goes well then there are plans by the actor to get a residential villa built in Ras Al Khaimah also. This he plans to get built just like his home in Mumbai.
According to sources this is going to be a mega budget project with an estimated expenditure of about 360 million Arab Emirates Dirham or Rs 455 crore.
So now we know why ShahRukh is called King Khan. Keep it up ShahRukh.

Shahrukh Khan to shoot superhero film in Miami
Share This Post
The choice of location comes as a surprise since Khan said last August that he wasn’t eager to return to the U.S. after he was detained and questioned by immigration officials at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey while he was en route to an Indian independence celebration in Chicago. Khan, who is Muslim, was also visiting the U.S. to promote his upcoming film, My Name is Khan, which is about racial profiling of Muslims in the U.S. The incident made headlines worldwide and outraged many Indians.
My Name is Khan is expected to release in February, when the actor will presumably be in the U.S.
